Chevron Fair Havens Reviews
This was supposed to be a stay which we would have wanted, but unfortunately it turned out to be sad and very boring at the hotel. No Proper service, even when it was not packed, no cleanliness. Geysers not working properly, no proper room service. Multiple requests to be given to get service.. Utterly pathetic experience. Though the view is....Read More
We planned a trip for Nainital on last weekend. Since, the plan was not made a long ago in advance, I found it hard to get a decent hotel. After Reading the reviews on tripadvisor, we choose this one amongst the all in which rooms were available. They charged us a whooping 8K per night including Breakfast and Dinner. The location is definitely o....Read More
Location of the hotel is good, food and overall service is fine. But it lacks basic amenities like geysers and room heaters do not have generator back up. Reception staff should be little more friendly and helpful. The stay was not worth the money we paid !!!
Average hotel with average food. Was good but seems costly. Also the food was good but was very normal not as much as value for money in that much money there are several other options available there
We stayed in this hotel for 4 days in April 2016. The location is really premium and you will enjoy the view. Pros:- - Amazing location and a perfect place to experience the British architecture. Lot of wood work in the rooms and dining area provides an old heritage charm. - Ambiance is good & lawn area is perfect for relaxing. - Rooms....Read More
Good location and overall good ambience, food served in lunch and dinner was very wholesome, delicious and excellent. However breakfast items and serving can be improved on. All guest paying should be treated equally, Indian should not be ignored for VIPs or Foreigners.
The location of the hotel is very good and hospitality was also nice. Good food and good ambiance and worth visiting. Value for money and rooms are hygienic and well maintained. Very helpful in arranging local logistics on time. Indoor facilities are also good.
Old world charm, Colonial construction! Spacious rooms but room service not up to mark. Do not expect any thing to eat in room during dinner time. Location is good and you can see some part of Nainital Lake from the front lawn.
Very helpful staff and rooms are excellent food is superb so is the location they provide room heater looks like a heritage building. Staffs are very cooperative please try the butterchicken in the restaurant. Mall road is at walking distance.
This is not hotel mistake, with in one month this is my second worst experience with MakeMyTrip. What ever room the offer on their site, I doesn't get accordingly. Now good bye MakeMyTrip from my side. Even I called and complain but doesn't get satisfaction.
Top Reviews of Chevron Fair Havens
Chevron Fair Havens as the name suggests is a perfect weekend getaway for people who are traveling with friends and looking for something that is out of the box. The view from the front porch is just breathtaking. When you enter inside this British property it leaves you stunned with its beautiful architecture and you feel that are witnessing the colonial days back 1940s. The hotel staff is very helpful and the room service is very quick. Very tidy rooms and cosy comfortable beds. Though the only thing hotel lacks is with their quality of food which was not at all worth it. Rest if you're not too fussy about the food. The stay at this property would be a journey of a lifetime
Well maintained property, good location, good food, overall value for money, they are having shuttle service for mall road, well maintained heritage property, they are having facility of bonfire. Very big parking for vehicle and they serve good variety of food.
Cons first: Decent location but extremely difficult to reach. About 200-300 m steep ascend. They do give pick up & drop service from Bara Bazar Gate (Base) but it can take them about 45 minutes to pick you up ie, travel 300 m. My wife had to wait for 45 minutes before I could walk up to the hotel, argue with the reception guy for a pick up and then come back to the pick up point to pick my wife and luggage. I asked them for a bonfire but they refused stating they don't have wood. Btw I had asked them in the evening for a bonfire at night. Pros: Overall view from the hotel at all times is very good. Especially in the night. The Hotel has an old British style taste. Fine woodwork. Food was ok. Bathroom has new fittings and was very clean.
I have been to Naintal many times. Infact every year I visit corbett and nainital thrice. But this time it was special. I got to know from a friend that its snowing in Naintal. So we instantly made a plan and catch the next bus to Nainital. I made prior arrangmensts by booking Chevron Fair Havens and hiring a car because I was afraid of loosing time in searching for hotels. So we reached Nainital on Dec 16 and the the moment I stepped down from the bus it was damn cold. The winds hit my whole body and I was shivering. The temp was 2 C. We reached our hotel in 5 mins and I especially asked for a lake view room which I did received on my arrival. The room was cozy and warm, however the overall decor made me remind of my grandfather villa in Palampur. Wooden and rotten. Anyhow we did see the snow, but missed the snowfall. Like always, we didn't waste even a minute and utilized every second effectively in exploring all the places around Nainital. I had never been to zoo in Naini but this time I made my visit and I was surprised the way Nainital authorities have maintained the cleanliness and have a given a texture of wildlife for the existence of some wild animals like Himalayan Sloth Bear, Mountain Leopards and Tiger. The hotel staff was extremely helpful in organizing and guiding my whole journey. But definitely it was worth spending money.
When I went to Nainital, I pre-booked the room in Chevron Fair Havens for me and my friend. The hotel is so good from look as well as from service. The staff of the hotel is very co-operative and well mannered. The rooms were very neat and clean and the food they provided is very fresh and cost effective. One of the main feature of the hotel is that, it is having its own parking area, normally it is not available with a hotel in hill areas. So overall the hotel is very good and I recommend it to each tourist who is going to Nainital for fun and enjoyment.
