Chikmagalur food, sight-seeing and shopping options
You can stay in Nature Nirvana homestay which is located in the BababudanGiri range of hills in a scenic location amidst Coffee plantations. Mullayangiri and BabaBudan Giri are a must visiting hills. Even in peak summer, these hills are cool with lot of greenery/vegeatation in the hills. If you reach the peak of the BB Hills, you will be in the clouds and that's an amazing experience. You will that you are in a dreams. You can buy Coffee from Chikmagalur.

Hotel Review of Wood Way Estate
Comments: We, a group of four girls landed up at the doors of woodway estate on 11th July 2008, not knowing what to expect. All through the journey we were keeping our fingers crossed, more so since this was nearly the first time after marriage that we were out on our own. Hoping that woodway turn out to be a decent place, we went ahead , and one word to describe our experience... it was awesome.
The day we landed it was misty & rainy which kind of dampened our spirits a bit. nevertheless we had some very nice dinner & slept of the weariness. The next day was a bright sunny day. In th emorning Santosh (seemed like Shreedev's right hand man) took us on a trek to Bendgal. The mountain climbing was good & refreshing. Then came the part where we had to climb a rock... it was extremely misty with strong breeze blowing - what else can we expect at 6000 feet above sea level. What seemed like an impossible task, we acheived with unexpected ease thanks to Santosh's encouragement. On the top of Bendgal we were like fur women who conquered the world. Extremely overwhelmed by the entire experience we got back to our homestay where delicious breakfast awaited us and we gobbled it up gleefully.
After that bicycles were arranged for us. After nearly ten years we got on to the cycles. It bought back my confidence and then it was like a visit down memory lane where mom had to come running behind me to get off the bike.
There was a TT set up also where we tried our hands. Also laid our hands on some really old copies of Reader's Digest.
After lunch we went on to Mulayanagiri... A wonderful (though winding) drive, to what seemed to be the highest peak in that area. It seemed like we touched heaven there.
Back from there, we made a small campfire and sat around there listening to some soft music gazing at the stars and having a good conversation.
A day well spend we went off to sleep immediately after dinner. All plans of playing indoor games thrown straight out of the window.
The next day we took a small coffee tour around the estate with santosh. Ate fresh oranges plucked right in front of our eyes from the tree. After that a nice heavy breakfast. Some more cycling and swinging on the swing and then ready to leave.
Best Experience: It's difficult to say whether its the food at woodway or the service that you get there. Authentic Chikmagalur cuisine, which was just rightly spiced and had quite a bit of variety. Santosh & Shiva who made our stay extremely comfortable giving personalised attention to our needs, without we even having to ask.
All in all, a place that I would recommend to everyone & I too would like to be back in.

Stay at Wood Way was one of the best experiences I have ever had, its location, the tall tress, coffee platations & the misty mountains surrounding the estate were breath taking. This will suit most for trek lovers and the ones who will prefer to stay in a quiet place & relax with almost no connectivity to your cell phone....

Hotel Review of Wood Way Estate
The decision to stay here was prompted by one phonecall ot the hosts - the Hulikere's. The personal touch was evident from the first contact and since we mostly go by instinct in our travle plans this was no exception. Arrival at the place only served to confirm our suspicions - that this was going to be one of our best homestays ever. The location was superb , the views spectacular, proximity to a game sanctuary, the food and the...

Located amidst coffee plantation & surrounded by hills, Woodstay is a beautiful place. Added to it, the warmth & hospitality extended by Shreedev & Susmitha (the owners) and Santosh (the caretaker) made it even more special experience.
