Hotel Review of Pagoda Retreat
Comments: If a long drive amidst cloud filled valleys and waterfalls is your way of spending the weekend then take the drive from Pune to Chiplun via Mahabaleshwar. The drive from Mahabaleshwar to Chiplun is a must for nature lovers. Chiplun is a small industrial city on the Mumbai-Goa highway NH-17. For those who are more interested in the drive then the stay, Pagoda Retreat offers a good economical option. The resort has a swimming pool and decent rooms. We booked a suite for the three of us. The service is exceptionally good. The bathrooms were clean and room service prompt. The Table Tennis was not open and surprisingly the reason given was 'due to rains'. Pool table is also mentioned but they have removed it due to high taxes. Just the location is a let down as it is situated bang on the highway. Beach lovers can relax at Guhagar beach which is 40 Kms from Chiplun. The road to Guhagar is one of the best as well as the view. The view of River Vishisti from the valley is breathtaking.
Best Experience: Excellent service and economical. Good value for Maney.
Worst Experience: Located right on the Mumbai-Goa highway. Not too many activities.
