Hotel Review of The Riverview Chiplun
Comments: This erstwhile Taj resort is located on a hill directly overlooking the Vashishti River, the primary attraction of Chiplun. As the name suggests, each room gives a beautiful view of the mountains and the river. Our stay at the resort was quite pleasant and having gone in the monsoons, it was a different experience altogether watching the clouds and mist go through the mountains right from our room. When it rains, it rains really heavy in Chiplun and thern all of sudden the sun shines right back at you. That in itself is an experience. The resort has dining facilities at the restaurant as also in the open. Rooms are large with 2 double beds and attached balconies.
Best Experience: When we decided we didn't want to go to the restaurant for having dinner, the buffet dinner was actually served in our rooms! Food was generally good and once you're staying at the resort, there isn't actually any other option to dine as its located more than 10 kms from the town centre. The resort also has a good colection of books and DVDs at a nominal charge.
Worst Experience: No worst experiences as such except that the DVD player in our room was not working well and we could finally see the movie after nearly an hour of servicing. Would recommend everyone to check whether the player is working beforehand itself, so that time is not wasted later when one anxiously waits for the movie to start.

Hotel Review of The Riverview Chiplun
A weekend destination (i.e. if you like a 100 kmph drive into rural Maharashtra) near Mumbai, Chiplun had captured my attention a few years back on an unplanned trip to Goa. It was 0400 hrs in the morning then and I couldn't make too much of the town in the dense fog and incessant rains. This time however, I had a different agenda - stay in Chiplun, avoid the downpour and have a great time. The three of us - me,...

Hotel Review of The Riverview Chiplun
Was really good to spend the christmas eve at this Hotel - It has great surrounding and a breathtaking view which is simply awesome. The climate was fanstastic at that time of the year. One can just sit in the lawn and do nothing - just stare into the view offered. The food was good - try the malvani thali. Breakfast was very filling and seemed to offer endless variety to suite everyone's taste. Overall enjoyed the experience, was a...

Hotel Review of The Riverview Chiplun
The riverview resort excited us to check in though we were driving back from a holiday at Goa in October 2006,but no river in sight. Then we were informed that we can take a river cruise, where it is actually on the package but since we checked in later than the cruise time, we need to make arrangements to reach the river, but then we thought let it be...if its going to be a hassle. The room, services, food, facilities in this quaint...

Hotel Review of The Riverview Chiplun
A very refreshing and rejuvinating experience. The location and resort surroundings are a nature lover's paradise which is within easy acess from Mumbai. Pristine hills, forests, and a lovely lake with perfectly still clear waters, you can see the reflection of the hills on its surface. Absolutely no commercialisation, the environs is a small village which is detached from CHiplun town itself. Good rooms, great view, good service and the food - especially the buffet dinner and breakfast was delicious....
