Hotel Review of The Riverview Chiplun
Comments: The overall experience was a refreshing one...(except for the bill!!...very expensive..that comes with the Taj brand)....The view was breathtaking,rooms were very comfortable,lots of activities such as carrom(2 boards ),1 table tennis table and a pool table....if all the rooms are full you might have some trouble accessing them considering that they have abt 20 rooms...They do have a small but good gym and a good swimming pool which is open upto around 8 in the evening(a swim in the evening is refreshing except in the winters when the water is chilling....no heating in the pool)..nevertheless it was well maintained with well maintained showers too...staff (near the swimming pool)could afford to be a bit more alert and helpful....otherwise the service was good.....they even have a vcd player in the rooms and a descent collection of cds available at very reasonable prices for rent..The boat ride in the Vaishishthi river was good..saw many different birds and spotted 2 crocodiles....overall the ride was an interesting experience.....the surrounding gardens around the resort were very well maintained...But the food was just average...Though there are many items,the quality of food was only satisfactory...Overall a good show
Best Experience: The view from the room is amazing and the room was very comfortable..The placement of the rooms ensure good privacy too...boat ride was good too..
Worst Experience: No worst experiences as such....But they could do with some upgrading...The swimming pool requires heating in winters(that facility is lacking)without which it is dificult to use the pool...Not much place to go for a stroll...

Hotel Review of The Riverview Chiplun
Chiplun is a good destination for a short break away from Mumbai. At a driving distance of 4.5 hrs it is a comfortable journey. The resort has an excellent location perched atop a hillock overlooking a river valley. The view from the room was breathtaking. Strongly recommended for kids. The kids had a whale of a time there with a very well maintained swimming pool and garden and also some good indoor recreation facilities....

Fabulous experience! * we drove from Mumbai to Chiplun and drive was fantastic - roads after the post-mansoon repairs are good. * Riverview gives truely a riverview from everywhere - except if you get a room on the ground floor - avoid that! * Service is very good. A train journey over the green carpet in the Konkan region during the rains is a good start for a weekend escapade. Followed with the tranquil environs, the river tributaries in sight around the Riverview Resort at Chiplun and the warm hospitality of the staff, you are more than compensated for the marginally higher tariffs at the resort and the lack of activities around the place....

If you want to visit Chiplun and want to enjoy a leisurely holiday...........this is the resort u shud go to. Except for the very steep steps that they have the place is at the best location possible.............u have a breathtaking view of the river meandering through the high mountains from your room verandah and a decent view of the sunset.............if you can just hop on to the main road and cross it you get an amazing view of the sunset...
