Hotel Review of WelcomHeritage Bassi Fort Chittorgarh
The Destination : This place is one of the true experiences of a Heritage property one should look forward to. I was very impressed with the upkeep and the family that run the place is doing a good job.
The Location: This place is just 20 kms off from Chittorgarh and is right on the main highway so people dont have to go far away to stay in this place.
The Appearance: The 1st floor of the property is getting a similar look to that of the ground floor and people might feel that the property is not attractive but i believe that the apperance is one that you would dream of when reading historical stories or watching some historical movies.
Bookings & front office : The booking office is a small one and is good enough for this property. The staff is also minimal but one doesnt need many people to run this place.
The Service: Service is good here and people are nice and friendly. Being run by a royal family the one thing that you can be rest assured of is the attention that you will get from people who run this place.
The Room : As i mentioned earlier, the room is in its original form and is a true heritage experience except for the bathroom that has mordern fittings like the wash basin and the shower. shower curtain which is quite understandable.
Food & Drink : There is no concept of a menu for the restaurant and the food for a particular day/night is decided by them before hand and that is what one will expect in such a property. But the spread of the food is truly good. I really enjoyed eating both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Also, since we had quite a long drive from Jaipur to Bassi, i was exhausted and was just looking forward for a chilled beer and i was surprised to find one that was truly chilled.
Activities: There aren't any activities that one could expect in this place except if a group of 10+ people go here and ask for some folk dance etc.
: I enjoyed looking at the intricate work of the property and spent quite some time looking at them even though we were there only for the night.
Leisure activities : If you are in a group of 10+ people then i suppose you could request the hotel staff for some cultural activities during the evening.
Mode of travel : Own_Vehicle
Best time to visit : Winter
How many days to stay: weekend
Travel tips : One could expect huge rooms, huge bed and lots of space here.
Travel warnings : If you are not one of them who is looking for a heritage property then it is best you avoid it. Also people looking for telephone extn. in the room, newspaper on a daily basis, television set in the room could look at a regular hotel and avoid this property.
