"Great stay at a heritage hotel "

6.5/7
Posted 22 Jun

My wife and I were in Jaipur to attend a wedding of my cousin. My cousin's wedding party was staying at Chomu Palace Hotel, which is where all the functions were as well. The look of the hotel is incredible regal. This hotel used to be a palace earlier and is the venue for many film shoots. The palace is built in a Rajasthani style (naturally!), and as we walked in to the hotel, we were greeted in royal Rajasthani style with teeka and maala. We didn't really use all the facilities/amenities in the hotel, but really liked the look of the hotel rooms. They were spacious and even though built in traditional style, the rooms were very comfortable. Our dinners at Darbar Hall were really nice. When the Darbar Hall is lit up, it is absolutely beautiful. Great architecture and colours. The only thing I would do different the next time is - Stay for longer, and make sure that I am there only in the winters!

"Good breakfast, dinner spread & Wi-Fi was limited"

4.9/7
Posted 5 Mar, 2015

Went for a weekend outing to Jaipur with my wife and grown up daughter and spent two nights. We travelled by road from Delhi which was quite comfortable. You have to turn-off from the Delhi Jaipur Highway onto the Delhi Ajmer Highway. The exit is after about 15 km, which is a bit tricky to find. You have to enter the service road and cross over to the other side and drive straight to Chomu. Not too difficult to find the hotel. Although I take the help of Google Maps. The special attraction was that this was a heritage property. Although this property does not have a very significant history and the current owners are no way connected to the family constructed it, it gives a different feeling staying at a place built in a different era. The suit in which we stayed was very cosy. You enter into a large living area. Beyond that is the bedroom. The master bed is in a recess on a pedestal. In one nook of the room is a single bed which by daughter occupied immediately. The bathroom has all modern amenities. Overall the room has a lot of variety which keeps you interested. We took a tour of the hotel trying to find mysteries which we could solve. The narrow stairs, the alleys have an element of surprise unlike today's predictable layouts. At all times you you feel being in a different era. We also climbed on top of the wall which is wide enough to drive a car. The dining hall is the place where the popular movie 'Bhulbhulaia' was shot (Vidya Balan). The breakfast and dinner spread was good with some tasty Rajasthani menu included. Wi-Fi was limited to the poolside and not available in the room. It was more of an experience than staying at hotel to spend the night.

"Nice weekend hangout place"

4.6/7

Good weekend getaway especially for jaipur. Rooms are nice and well decorated, landscaping is also very impressive. Hotel gives you feel as royal guest, however approach to hotel is very jam packed and crowded. Food is average here, staff is generous and polite.

"Convenient hotel and staff were good"

6.4/7
Posted 7 Aug, 2015

I went with family for relaxation trip and the stay was comfortable. The hotel is located convenient to travel. The service provided by this hotel was good and the staff members were good. The appearance was normal. The room allotted to me was spacious and well maintained with all the amenities in good working condition. The food at the hotel was very good with different varieties. There was a swimming pool and massage centre. There was no delay during check-in and check-out process. The hotel is worth for the money. I recommend this hotel to other travellers.
