Church of St Alex which stands on two huge towers is a famous attraction. This church is situated along the CHOGM Road, and was built in 1595. This church celebrated its 4th centenary in 1996.
The original church was built by the Franciscan brothers in 1595, which makes it the oldest surviving church in Goa. The original church was demolished by the locals and later reconstructed in 1741. In the year 1765, the towers of this church were erected. It is known for its rococo style of architecture, dome, decorative towers and interiors. Tourists can find a cave of Our Lady of Lourdes within the churchyard.
