The Citadel Reviews
Well just an average hotel to just hit the bed. There are no leisure amenities like swimming pool, gym, library, internet facility, etc. The WiFi doesn't seem to work 24x7 as the signal strength is perennially low in all corners of the hotel. Food is just average as it just fills your stomach without bothering your taste buds. The only advantage of....Read More

Activities were not there in the hotel. Amenities like AC and TV were working properly. The room was clean and neat. We didn’t face any problem to find the hotel. We had food from outside. Staff’s behaviour was good.
Stay was excellent. Good ambience and service. Staff was cooperative. Good quality food. No inconvenience at all. Would recommend it surely and will visit again. More activities needed for kids. Closer to beach cool place. Quick service. Clean pool.
Good beach view hotel, beach was very close and could spend lot of time on beach, enjoyed the sunset from the room. Food was excellent specially the fish. Enjoyed the dinner with live music. Excellent wine was served. We visited many sightseeing points, hotel helped us in arranging a good English speaking driver.

Visited this place with my family for Christmas '14. The hotel has a lot of positives and a few areas of improvement. The location definitely tops the list of positives. It's a 2 minute, 200 meter walk from the Vasco-da-Gama railway station and a 15 minute, under 5 mile drive from the airport. There are several restaurants in near vicinity, with various forms of cuisine on offer. In addition, there are two parks around the corner for an early evening or morning stroll. The staff at the reception are quite helpful and are quick in responding to requests from the in-room Telecom. I had requested for the room to be mopped before going to bed, mosquito repellent and extra blankets. The hotel staff was quick in attended to these requests. The rooms are clean and quite cosy, the interiors of the hotel had an old world charm to it. The corridors and the stairway are of colonial design. The hotel offers free and efficient WiFi in room. Some challenges that visitors may come across. Car parking is on the street in front of the hotel and you may have have challenges finding a parking spot. The hotel staff could assist with parking. The large windows of the room we were in, did not have locks and could easily be opened from the outside. Fortunately we were on the 3rd floor and did not lose sleep over this. The big spirit dampener for us was the service at the restaurant. We waited for 40 minutes to be served. When we had questioned the manager of the restaurant, the reason given was that the staff was engaged in a party at the banquet hall. While the food served finally was reasonably priced and tasted pretty good, the long wait killed our appetite. I would have appreciated being informed about this delay while the food order was being placed. In all a reasonably priced hotel for the amenities and the location.
I had a comfortable stay. The room was very clean but for regular room service improvement is required. Air conditioning is window type which goes off when u leave the room as a result it takes time to cool when you enter. But for this the stay was very comfortable and pleasant.
Located near to Railway station, the hotel offers good connectivity to all the regions in Goa. Its proximity to major attractions make it an ideal venue among leisure travellers. You get warm greeting upon arrival, immediate assistance with luggage, and a very quick check-in. Looks like entire team at reception is eager to serve. The service and cleanliness was outstanding. The rooms are stylish, smart and sophisticated. This is a very good property with a very nice beach and we enjoyed the water sports. Very nice hotel at affordable price services. Worth staying with the facilities provided. We were very happy that, we don't have to find another place to stay next time.
It was pretty tired feeling after landing on airport the point of choosing this hotel was in budget+near to the airport. Hardly 10 minutes drive from Dabolim Airport. It is also near to the bus stand walking distance of 7-8 mints. Hotel provides free Wifi, it has Bar and Restaurant in it, the food is good there. Room service is pretty late they might not had enough resources may be at that time only. Rooms are clean, TV and Water Boiler works fine. TV has all the channels you want to see. Housekeeping staff is co-operative if ask them to come after some time they will do and if you ask them to come immediately they will to your room. It has lift facility too. Non AC rooms are smaller in size as comparison with AC rooms. Choose AC rooms if you have children etc. Hotel staff is very very co-operative from receptionist to room service guy. They will give you blanket and towel washed up and clean, you really don't need to carry your own. Hotel washrooms are in good conditions and geyser works fine. Overall money you pay and what you get its a fair enough deal.
This hotel is centrally located in Goa. It was amazing or I can say unforgettable time of my life. The pool was really as big as it appeared in the photographs. Staff was good. Staff was timely in handling requests. The housekeeping service provided was really good. The location of the restaurant was good and easy to approach. The meals were relatively not so much expensive. You would have remembered to bring your own shampoo etc because the establishment does not supply these essentials to help keep their costs down for the guests. So if you are planning for holidays in Goa,go to The Citadel, Goa.
