Excellent location and courteous staff

5.5/7
Posted 18 Jan, 2016

I started my trip with apprehensions about credibility of Mahabaleshwar as a hill station (as I'm an avid lover of the majestic Himalayas). However, once I reached there, my fears disappeared. Place is quaint in the lap of mother nature, not much commercialization has happened thus pollution-free. We reached hotel at around 1:30 in the afternoon, were greeted by the hotel staff and were allotted well appointed rooms immediately Hotel location is a big plus (not far from the main market yet away from hustle-bustle and noise). Property is very attractive, a huge colonial bungalow as the main section (with suites, reception, restaurant & entertainment area) with a relatively new constructed wing comprising of deluxe and superior rooms in the back side. Greenery everywhere with seasonal flowers at full bloom. A well maintained swimming pool, enticed my son and relatives to take a plunge but they were out soon as the water was cool and it was late in the evening Breakfast spread (included in plan) was well thought of with variations everyday and the dinner buffet comprised of variety with excellent preparations. Food quality & room service were good and quick. Other entertainment source included Table Tennis, video games, chess, carrom, cycling, small football zone, etc and a hammock in the front lawn Rooms were clean, with all the amenities (tea/coffee maker, in room payable food items, cable TV, etc). Toilets were good with all new fittings, a glass partition for bathing area & abundant toiletries (conditioner, shampoos, Linen/Towel/napkins were very clean and extra/replacement were available on a call Hotel has ample parking space and is very close (approx. 100 to the most happening place of the town (main market). Perfect for a gruffly holiday, everything available, any kind of food could be ordered. What else one needs! :-). Only drawback is that on Tuesdays, there is a local market arranged on the street in front of the hotel, which restricts the vehicles entry on the road and to the hotel. Nearest parking place is around 100 meters away, which is manageable. The senior citizens and people with walking disabilities might like to keep it in mind while planning their trip Would highly recommend and like to revisit & stay at, in future.

Holiday destination for Summer season stay

6.1/7
Posted 23 Mar, 2015

With Mumbai's climate getting all hot! We decided to chuck the summer heat and enjoy some cool pleasant climate at some hill top. And yes, Mahabaleshwar it! Though its a long journey, but we were all excited to be there It took a long tiring 5 hrs drive to the hill top. All drained we reached the Citrus Chambers (as it states in Google Map) and looking at the surrounding of the hotel we felt refreshed. We took a little tour of the property and seeing the pool hold ourselves to take a jump. The pool was fun! It has there goal posts for play. I am sure if you have a gang its gonna be a hell of fun !. The next amazing thing was the bed, it was soft as compared to any other hotel. Wish I could keep lying there all day. The room was cosy and comfy. It had these antique doors that gave that classic look. After long journey and dip in the pool we were super hungry. The best thing of this hotel is that they have 24 hrs room service. So, we ordered for a chicken chilly and only one word for it 'heaven'! The best food and generous quantity. Ordering is always confusing however the staff was very nice and helpful. Also, we wanted to watch a movie that was in the pendrive and our room TV was not supporting it. When asked for a way out to the staff he replaced the whole set-up for us. That's so sweet! This completely depends on availability Amazing place, its pleasant in summers. If we are sportive or love nature it is a place for you. Don't miss out on Go-karting, dirt biking, paint ball (with group), boating at Venna Lake and Horse riding. Visit to Mapro factory and garden is a must. And if you are at Mapro garden don't forget to sip on strawberry thick shake. Relishing it is However, we stayed for a day and missed out on many things we could do. In my next visit I will definitely would want to visit the Theme park/Water park (on my way), Velocity entertainment and going to table point. Citrus is the place at Mahabaleshwar. If you are staying there, no need to worry for anything. Even if you forget your brush the staff will get one for you. It's a calm place and w had fun and hoping the ones Reading my review enjoy it too. Just one thing don't annoy the monkeys. Hehe !.

Nice experience with good food but expensive

6.3/7
Posted 29 Aug, 2015

We were visited to Mahabaleshwer for 2 day family trip (Aug 16-17, 2015). As 15 Aug was holiday for that major rush was during 15-16 Aug 2015. Usually I prefer to do advance booking of hotel but this time somehow we could not do that and thought we would check their only. On site after all discount rates are ranging from 6500-7000 for one night ( 2 Adult & 1 Child), but when we go there and asked they offered 4000/- with complementary breakfast. When I inquired why so big gap they told management took this decision. So it is individual choice that they want peace of mind with advance booking or make good deal at last moment Property has a heritage look, when I checked with hotel guy they couldn't tell much but what I could gather from that it is an old property. But all amenities was there, Good size swimming pool (due to rain & fog nobody using that resultant looking dessert. Spa is there which has average charges with discount but the staff and entire environment was very professional and giving good experience. In Citrus hotels you find a centrally covered area for dining, but again due to rain it was not operational otherwise it looks very good. Rooms were very cosy and comfortable, hygiene and cleanliness at it s best no question on that. Only window that is towards entry side where nothing to see much for that sometime you feel bit clumsy As heavy rain was going on we though better to take food in hotel only. Which is one good decision. There staff is very courteous and help you very much in design your meal. My daughter who doesn't take spice at all they suggest some nice preparation without chilly. So lunch, dinner & breakfast all was awesome but yes if you compare with average hotel you will find bit expensive. Our lunch & dinner (for 2) cost us 2500/-

Pleasant stay with good service

5.0/7
Posted 19 Oct, 2015

I enjoyed my stay at Citrus Hotel Mahabaleshwar. It was a moment for the family to go on a trip and enjoy the festive season in Mahabaleshwar and I am happy that my partner chose this hotel as everything was perfect. The staff members treated us very well and kept guiding us with regards to tourist spots and places which were good for shopping and that's the best thing I can expect from any staff employee. The food as well was tasty and prices were affordable. The hotel provided us with free WiFi service and there was a pool as well where we spent a lot of time chatting and having fun. It was pleasant to stay at this hotel.

Deluxe rooms and helpful staff

5.0/7
Posted 23 Aug, 2014

The lift facility is good. I have enjoyed a lot and if I get a chance I will come to your hotel again. Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Deluxe room was okay but nothing special. Executive room was really nice. Hotel was unable to cope with unseasonably hot weather as deluxe room cooled lower than 77 F (25c). Breakfast was good but staff directed us to a place almost directly across the street where the buffet cost 12.40 euros and was quite. Good location, service was ok. Management was ok, check in check out was ok. Staff cooperation was very markable. Room was neat and clean. Parking is good.

Cosy place with roots in history

6.4/7
Posted 29 May, 2015

The place was a historical bungalow and now a cosy hotel with spacious rooms with great views of nature and nifty opportunities to have fun for all family members. Food with lots of choice and authentic taste - we had one of the best pastas as well as punjabi Dale till date. Friendly staff and efficient service. Nestled amongst Mahabaleshwar's Jamun tree forest and yet walking distance from the bustling market area. A peaceful, rambling and relaxing environment. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay :)

I booked 15 rooms for my 45 guests with all meals...

6.5/7
Posted 14 Sep, 2011

I booked 15 rooms for my 45 guests with all meals plan at Citrus Chambers for one of the conference of the Nagpur ICAI, during 18th August 2011 to 23rd August 2011 as i was the Incharge & Chairman for the same. It was a Conference cum Leasiure family gathering of Chartered Accountants families of Nagpur consisting of womens & small childrens also. We had a fantastic time at Mahabalehwar and Citrus Chambers. The Hotel was very elegantly decorated with a beautiful lobby. On arrival at midnight on 3.00 am we were welcomed by the full staff of the hotel including the General Manager. On entering the rooms, i found that the rooms were quite spacious and the layout of room was very well planned. The rooms were well decorated with all the facilities. Amazingly the Rooms were so well maintained that there was more than less than normal smell, which is usually there in the times of monsoon in the hill stations. The food quality was awesome & all our guests enjoyed the delicious food very much. Infact i can say the variety & quality of food was the show stealler. More than 100% marks for the delicious wide ranging quality food. The Staff was very couertous and helpful. The Hotel staff was available in midnight also to provide for milk for childrens. One of our guests had fast on 22nd & asked me for something which can be eaten in fast. I asked the hotel people in night at 8 pm of 21st Aug & they immidiately changed the menu for the next morning & whole day. Infact they specially prepared Aallu Paratha which was not there in the menu & packed it for our guests who went for sight seeing & eat only one time on the day of fast. The swimming pool was clean & propperly maintained even during these time of heavy monsoon & that was incredible on the hotel part as our guests enjoyed swimming also. The housekeeping staff also deserve kudos for maintaining the hotel & rooms so well during Monsoon time. The Conference hall was very well decorated & hotel aaranged a Magic Show on their own for the childrens of our group & also on our request arranged a DJ night for our Guests. The inhouse Spa was very well maintained with an expert technician & was value for money. We had 7 cars with drivers & the hotel provided woolen sheets for night & Hot water facility with washroom for all of them. The only thing which i found lacking was shortage of recreational indoor games like carrom, Table Tennis, Badminton, Pool Table etc & asked the hotel management to make provision for that in my suggestion form also. The hotel does have a beautiful playing area for childrens where childrens from our group enjoyed very much, but for people staying more than 1 night, something more is needed. In all we had a fantastic stay at Citrus Chambers and enjoyed a lot there. I personally recommend Citrus Chambers for people with family who can enjoy thier stay in the beautiful & serene Mahableshwar hassle free & enjoy their holidays to the fullest.

The hotel location was very well accessible and in the middle of the city. There was no issue in finding the hotel. There was absolutely no delay in check-in and check-out. The appearance of the hotel was pretty. It was a well maintained property surrounded with garden. They had also provided the WiFi connectivity. The staff and services were great as they were friendly and approachable. They were on time for our request. The hotel provided welcome breakfast as complimentary. The hotel food was very good with huge varieties of cuisine. They had buffet system for food. The hotel had a swimming pool which was maintained very well. The room had a mini bar with balcony and it was also very spacious, neat and clean. The geyser, refrigerator and other amenities were provided and well maintained. The overall stay was value for money. We didn't opt for sightseeing. I would like to recommend this hotel to other tourist too.

A property with lovely service

5.5/7
Posted 4 Nov, 2015

Just a great place to spend your vacation & is a no brainer as its close proximity with market & easy access. The property is lovely from exterior & redecorated interiors as well. The check-in was swift & given a good welcome with welcome drink being served. An awesome place to stay with nostalgic British-era rooms giving one that historical throwback angle. Neat, clean & spacious rooms with good, comfortable beds & clean linen. The bathrooms were clean, hygienic with running hot water. Electricity is a problem in Mahabaleshwar with many power cuts, this property had its own generator also. Food was very tasty and amazing. The service was brilliant with staff going out of its way to help us.
