Well one does not need to think twice while booking club mahindra resorts. Though it is slightly expensive, but I would like to suggest that Coorg is such a place where one should stay in good resorts ( the best one can afford ). Everything was well managed and the stay was comfortable.

We visited this place on fourth week of January 2014, to relax, enjoy and also visit a few nearby places. The room here was too good with a big soft bed, a sofa come bed and a dry kitchenette with dining table and a few microwavable dishes. Apart from this there was also a sit-out with chairs and a centre table and a very good cloth hanger. The lighting in the room was very good and relaxing. The housekeeping was very prompt and very creative, they cleaned and decorated the room very beautifully which our kids enjoyed a lot . . The food they served in the restaurant was also too good with a huge spread and different varieties, thematic too (especially on Republic Day). Live music was played by a violinist which all of us enjoyed a lot especially our son. The violinist was a very friendly person. The service here was too good, very friendly and caring, I would really appreciate the way they took care of our kids and allowed us to enjoy the food peacefully. Forgot to mention about the kids friendly spread in a separate area to attract kids to have their lunch/dinner without any fuss ambience of the restaurant and the whole property was too good. They have a very nice play area both indoor and outdoor for kids and the indoor one is open till night 11PM. Apart from that they have kids arts and crafts area, library having books for both kids and elders of all ages. Play area for elders too both indoor (with carom, table tennis, chess etc) and outdoor (badminton court). Every day in the evening they have some programs like carnival, campfire, DJ music, stage shows etc, which all of us enjoyed. Flag hoisting ceremony also took place in connection with Republic Day. They also have a shop called Club Collectibles where we can get some basic food items like biscuits, chocolates, noodles, bread, jam, sauce etc. If we want a change in food we can buy noodles and cook in the room and enjoy (especially for kids) The travel desk was also helpful and advised us on package trip in the cab, who picked us up from Mysore station dropped us in Club Mahindra Madikeri, stayed there for two days, took us to different places in Coorg (Talacauvery, Triveni Sangamam, Omkareshwar Temple, Dubare Forest, Nisargadhama, Golden Temple-Tibetan Monastery) and dropped us back in Mysore station on the third day. Actually except for Talacauvery and Triveni Sangamam we didn't have any guess on what places to visit, the travel desk and the driver was very friendly to advice us on these other places. He was very friendly and never rushed us to any place and friendly to kids too The days when we went on sightseeing we had our lunch outside in different restaurants, but on both the days both the food was not that good. I would advise the other travellers to be well prepared with some ready to eat meter food items, heat them in the microwave provided in the room carry them along if they are planning for sightseeing Since this is a hill station and a huge property, the distance between the restaurant, main gate, reception is a bit far from the hotel rooms, it was tough to walk especially carrying the kids, that too having a heavy dinner, but the people was friendly enough to drop us near our rooms in their club vans. This is very useful especially if we are travelling with old people The overall experience was awesome; all of us enjoyed our stay, especially our kids. A beautiful place to stay.
A perfect location right in the coffee plantation is the location of the resort. Pleasant weather. We stayed in 1BR. From kitchenette to coffeemaker and also heaters were available in our room. The staff was very courteous and quick to provide any service required to make our stay comfortable. We loved the buffet meals at the resort . . The weather was cold so we avoided the swimming pool but the buffet menu was mouth watering. MURG MAKHANI, MUTTON THENGADY, FISH BANGRA FRY and many vegetarian dishes and sweet dishes. The chef name Prakash H at the resort made our evening very special by making special PRAWN KEBABS dish. Price of the meals felt little high but the taste, aroma of the food and surroundings of the resort made us feel really worth it to spend our money. There was a small store inside the resort were we shopped Coorg spices and obviously did some grocery shopping same place. Did not expect that much would be available at a vacation destination. The bed were soft with plush mattress and amazingly tasty aromatic food and good staff with quick check inn make me first ever find no problem or complain over Club Mahindra, Coorg Madikeri resort.
The stay here was one of the best stays I have ever had. Warm hospitality and excellent service, its their service with a smile attitude which I loved. Our flight was delayed hence we reached at 12 am. I had booked Mangalore airport pick and drop with the in-house travel desk (for Rs. 2950/-) and the service provided was very good and worth the small premium I felt They were ready with all the check-in formalities. I had thought of telling them that I would do the check-in formalities at my room since it was very late at night but it was so quick that I didn't mind doing it at the reception We opted for hotel unit but were upgraded to a studio unit as hotel units were all full. Breakfast spread is just amazing and delicious too! You are spoilt for choice and for members its absolutely value for money as it costs about Rs. 300 bucks. Grocery shop in the premises and it is just what you can ask for as it does away the necessity to have a lunch at the hotel and lunch can be cooked in the room itself after a heavy breakfast For dinner we preferred a la-carte and food was amazing again. Chef personally comes and checks with you if you like what's served. What I also loved was the idea of centralized billing. Where ever you go, whatever you do everything is finally settled in your final bill and you don't need to make payments every time Attention has been paid to small details like personally signed welcome notes by resort manager, umbrellas provided in monsoons, since rooms are far from reception and located uphill car pick-up & drop is available, kiddie zone, lots of activities to keep you busy, well stocked library, creative arts activities, video games, etc The resort is so walloped with everything that you would want to spend your entire duration of stay at the resort itself. Recommend a minimum stay of 4 nights. What I however did not like was that their cost for a full day city tour is exorbitant !! They charge Rs. 750/- per person + service charge+ tax. Also tour service leaves at 8:15 from the resort and first takes you to a temple which is not worth seeing. Instead it could skip the same and leave at 8:45 am. A full day cab hired for local sightseeing would approx. Cost 2, 300/-. So if 4 people opt for the tour by CM in their bus then its way too costly then hiring a private cab wherein you can roam about the town as per your convenience. However, all in all it was an awesome experience and I regret having planned a shorter stay. Vodafone 3G services are available and WiFi is available at their coffee shop.
Overall, my experience in the hotel was good. I did not face any difficulty to find this hotel. Staff behaviour was very friendly and services were good. Interior and exterior look of the hotel was beautiful. Room was spacious, neat, clean and maintained. All basic amenities were available in the room like TV, AC, geyser, freeze etc. They provided food facility in the hotel. Quality of the food was very good. It was a reasonable hotel. Location of the hotel was good. Booking and front office services were perfect. Swimming pool and other activities were available there. I went there with my family in 2012. Cost wise, the food was costly. There should be some improvement in reducing the price of the food. This is a recommendable hotel to other travellers.
My trip to Coorg was indeed a memorable one. We wanted a weekend retreat and finalized on Coorg as it is a pretty popular destination. The club mahindra resort is probably one of the best resorts in Madikeri. With huge rooms and serene surrounding, it is one of the best places to go. The room has a microwave, washing area and a refrigerator for one to stock up things. You have everything from swimming pools, badminton courts, club houses etc. The staff is very courteous and always greets one with a smile. It has two restaurants and food is wonderful. One of the dinners ordered was room service which was promptly delivered with decent helpings. However, if you are a non member, one would find the buffet to be a little on the higher side. It has a big. A dampener in July was that it used to rain pretty frequently. Still we managed to go around the resort with umbrellas provided by the resort. However with kids less than two years old, its a pain. I would definitely recommend this resort to members and non members ( Rs. 7000/night) to enjoy true luxury and a relaxed weekend.
