Best Experience: There was a theft in our room and all the cash that we had was stolen. This was, unfortunately, the highlight of our trip.

Worst Experience: TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE We stayed at Club Mahindra Munnar from 20 - 27 April, 2012. On 26th April, a day before our check-out, a thief broke into our room and stole a huge sum of money. While there was a CCTV camera near our room, it was poorly positioned and of poor quality, so it did not capture the face or reveal the identity of the thief. The only thing we gathered from the tape was that this incident occured at 3.46am. He entered from the main bedroom window (as could be seen through his muddy footprints), picked up the cash and escaped through the bathroom window. We were (are) very traumatized by this incident. There were young girls in the room as well. Had any of us woken up when the thief was inside, we would certainly have been injured or killed as he would most certainly have been carrying a weapon which he would have used against us to make his escape. This weapon would have been used for his self-defense or offense. Our lives were at stake. One thing is certain that this was the work of an insider who knew his way around the room like the back of his hand; he knew where to enter from and where to escape from and how to escape as well. Incidentally, the room did not have any locker system either. Today, it is exactly one month since the theft. There has been NO PROGRESS .The only thing we can do is to go on pushing and pursuing the matter from our end. The only impression one gets of the authorities is that they are trying to evade, delay and exhaust. The psychological trauma and distress can never be replaced, but they were even unwilling to reimburse us the amount that was stolen ON THEIR PREMISES and UNDER THEIR SO-CALLED SECURITY. Club Mahindra seems to boast of the standard and quality of their resorts but after such a nerve-wrecking and harrowing experience, I am not sure if I'll be taking another holiday to a Club Mahindra destination anytime in the future. I would advise anyone with young members in the family to stay away or carry your own security guard(s) with you. More than the loss of a huge sum of money, I am more let down and angered by the sheer lack of intent, professionalism and perseverence by the management and support staff of Club Mahindra to nab the thief and get to the bottom of this. It seems that adopting a gracious attitude on our part doesn't pay.
