Club Mahindra Binsar Valley, Binsar
Binsar Village & P O Bhainsori Almora-Bageshwar Road
This was a rather surprise destination. Not many have heard of Binsar and so Club Mahindra is very synonymous with this place. Lovely valley view- we took the chance to spend a week at this beautiful property with equal duration stay at valley and villa properties of Club Mahindra Photogenic place with beautiful landscaping and mountain view Warm hospitable staff and they even extended courtesy to put on the heater in the room given we got delayed by flight at Panta nagar Best time to go- November end The snow clad peaks of Himalayas and the grazing mild sunrays during dawn and dusk is a sight to behold Advice- Carry enough warm clothes, be careful with monkeys playing around on nearby temples, make sure to visit the Jyotirlig, be careful if you have tendency for motion sickness the mountain curves are very steep If you plan well, a trip to Nainital can fit into your itinery :)

I visited Club Mahindra property of Binsar in January 2015 with my family. Overall it was a nice experience. Rooms are clean, food is good. You can have a day package of approx 700 which includes breakfast and dinner. They provide lot of varieties in food and staff is good. Since it was January temperature was around 3-4 degrees. Heaters were not that effective so after complaining few times they provided few more heaters. One should definitely visit Zero Point, though drive is very risky and you need to trek for around 20-30 mins to reach there. It is worth visiting Zero point as it gives an amazing view of Himalaya.
The place itself is quite difficult and tiring to reach, specially if you have taken the road from Delhi. I\'d suggest taking the train upto Kathgodam and taking a cab from there. But once there you tend to forget all the aches and wish to venture out immediately. The place is cold specially during winters with night temperatures falling below zero degrees and it would be good idea to carry lots of woollens. The air though is crisp and one feels energetic all the time. The resort itself is a slight let-down if one compares to the brochures and the internet sight. It is a tad to small and located right on the curve on the state highway on a slope. The heavy vehicles create quite a noise going up the slope and it can be quite disturbing in the nights with the rooms hardly 20 feet away from the road. Having said that the upkeep and general feel of the resort is exemplary. The rooms are spacious and done up well. The pathways and the mini lawn is well manicured. The place and resort is best to chill and relax. Go read a book, have a drink or two and go out trekking. The nearby bird sanctuary offers sights and sounds which bring you closer to nature and the trek upto the view point is worth the effort as the view from the top of the snow-capped Himalayas from there is unparalled. Binsar is not for one who is looking for a lot of outdoor activities like going to the mall etc. It is one where you really xperience nature at its best and is best explored walking up the hills. The resort has one restaurant which though neat and claen doesn\'t offer much in terms of variety. The buffet is not that lavish considering the price they charge for the same. The resort is also short of some facilities like a health club, or a steam, sauna and swimming pool, though it has a small activity centre with a table tennis and pool table and some games for the kids.
Binsar Valley Resort of Club Mahindra, is located approx 120 kms from rail head of Kathgodam / Haldwani. These places are well connected by train from New Delhi and Lucknow. Cabs are available charging approx 1200 INR and taking 4 - 5 hrs on hilly roads. If one has an option to travel in one's own transport, it may be worthwhile to consider that if you have plan to spend 8 - 10 days in the mountains relaxing with number of beautiful sites around. The resort has good accommodation with microwave and cutlery crockery available for some enjoyable cooking, if you are fond of experimenting. The staff is mostly local kumaonis, simple, courteous and efficient. Restaurant is located slightly higher. They provide room service in lovely convenient packing. The food is adequate for two hence economical. Near by places to visit are Binsar Games Sanctuary, Jageshwar Temples. There are many more places depending upon time you have. Advisable to have woolens, preferably waterproof jackets. Carrying of snacks and dry rations ( if you plan to cook) will be helpful. There are good arrangements for children activities. Driving to Binsar Sanctuary is good experience if ones plans to go to Zero Point for lovely view of Himalayas. Although it is sanctuary but there are hardly any animals to be seen except some monkeys and snakes. Jogeshwar is a religious place having group of shiva temples nearly 4 - 5 hundred old. The temples are located in wonderful mountainous surrounding with high devdars. It has small but interesting archeological museum which is worth visiting. It may be worthwhile to combine it with visit to Almora as one has to pass close to it. While driving along Binsar - Almora/ Jageshwar road, look to your left for great views of Himalayas. Snow capped peaks will soar your spirits. Trip to Binsar is worth the trouble for wonderful family relaxed vacation in the lap of nature away from madness is big cities.
I stayed at club mahindra valley resort binsar from 25/05/10 till 29/05/10 (4 nights) and i must stay it has been a wonderful experience...the resort per se though not as big as goa, coorg or munnar definitely ranks at par with the others in terms of the overall upkeep and its impecabble service and its very courteous staff. The resort has been done up v.nicely, the food is excellent though sometimes repititive, the outdoor and holiday activities are varied and fun-filled, the children really enjoy themselves.....the architecture of the resort is also quite good and aesthetically pleasing to the eye....a quick word about the other resort at binsar, manipur villa....the log huts in the villa resort are absolutely outstanding and one gets a panoromic bird's eye view of the entire valley including the valley resort from above...highly recommended for a stay....
