Colva Beach, situated in the South Goa District, is known for its 24 km long white sand stretch. Colva was once a village with large population of fishermen; however, it has been transformed into a main tourism spot of Goa. The Colva Church is located near the beach and is visited by many travellers, especially in the month of October. The Church of Our Lady of Mercy in Colva, known for the Menino Jesus Statue, was established in 1630.
