Colva beach is one of the best beaches in the world. Sand is white, clean and the area itself is not overcrowded. You have all the activities in the beach like parachute gliding, boat cruises, water sports bikes and etc., at the beach. But in the hotel, you have no activities like Jacuzzi and steam. As you expect from the www.goa-tourism.com website, Ayurvedic centre is no more available inside. But you have plenty of such centers around the hotel. WOW! The beach is just one minute walk and the hotel is right on the beach. You can go any time to beach. That’s what we want the most, right?. Then comes the beach. It is so beautiful with white sand and there was no hard smell of the beach at all. You will enjoy the Goa beach at its best. The hotel reception staff are very informative, pleased and so supportive. The food is OK for western and north Indians but no south Indian dishes. Also it was not busy anytime during my stay. Again, you have plenty of very good restaurants nearby. To get good service (I mean room service and house keeping), you have to call more than once to get it done. They have organized sightseeing tours, like north Goa and South Goa. I would recommend North Goa tour, in which you also have optional River cruise in Government owned ship and pedal boating in Mayem Lake. North Goa tour includes plenty of beaches, so go in a light beach dress, rather than in formals. South Goa tour is a traditional one, I won’t recommend, since you will see lot of temples and churches (For which you have to walk a lot). Overall for Rs. 1200 (I took A/c room), you have more than what you have paid! A very good economy hotel I would say.
All in all, it was a wonderful and very good vacation at the GTDC Colva Residency. Excellently located beach view rooms close to the sea always tempted us to just rush to the clean clear, and very safe Colva beach and frolick in the waves. Close proximity allowed us to have the fun of walking bare foot from the rooms to the beach at any time. Primarily a fishing village, at times, it is a very quiet beach but can sometimes have some slight smell of the sea and the fishes caught !! :). The hotel being an economy one, does not have activities or play area for kids or a landscaped greenery. However, it more than compensates for than, by its most wonderful location, wonderful and thorough sightseeing packages and the beach. Its very close proximity to the beach ensured that one can always go for the refreshing morning walk on the beach or that romantic barefoot walk on beach under the full moon and the star lit sky !! :) Being located on the famous Colva beach ensures that shopping is made easy by lots of stalls selling sea-gears, handicrafts and showpieces made by shells and cones found in sea. To top it all, the incredible warmth and coziness of Goan people makes you feel relaxed and at home. Thus, a recommended place with an ideal location, for value-for-money reasonable, beach vacation.
\" GREAT \" !!! As I was there during the independence day weekend ..... and to add to my irony of the situation here I was spending my Honeymoon!! ( There goes my independence ....HAHAHAHAHA!!) But the sea the water the rains the clouds and all of it surrounding this nest of a resort was near perfect for the purpose. Although we saw some crowd around this resort during this time which was a little surprising but figured that most of them were there to spend their weekend. Lots of skin and sun tan thereby.... which added more spice to the destination. To top it all.....Tito\'s was ROCKING!!!which is just a crow\'s fly away from the resort. We here\'s some downside though we did\'nt get fast service since they were running short of hands or something like that and therefore the room did\'nt get housekeeping help everyday. But besides this the room which was over looking the pool and had a small glimpse of the sea was almost perfect setting for our honeymoon!! \" You rediscover goa and its moods in every visit, so there\'s always a reason to go back !! \"
The whole experience was great....especially since i was travelling with a toddler. the hotel is in a great location.since we had booked cottages the sea was clearly visible across the lush lawn..in fact the beach is just across the road. there are a large number of restaurants in the area which serves excellent food. the beaches are not crowded so we had a free run. the white sand is amazing and especially since it is clean.hawkers ,vendors are not there so there is less littering. the sea itself was a placid one and colva beaches and sea side are not dangerous .i am a non swimmer but still managed to go into waist deep water.there are plenty of lifeguards in the designated areas.almost a family beach...... hardly any display of swimwear....i did not need to shield my little boys eyes or keep an eye on hubby.
I stayed in Colva residency for two days with my wife. We both love the sea and that is the beauti of Colva residency..You are so close to the sea that you can spent as much time a spossible at the Colva Beach..One of the finest beaches in Goa. At night one can take a long walk along the sea shore. Surrounded by loads of hotels, bars and Restaurants which serve delicious food of all kinds. Shopping is made easy by lots of stalls selling sea-gears, handicrafts and showpieces made by shells and cones found in sea. Over and above its the coziness of Goa which make you feel warm. Ideal location, value for money and nice enough setup for a economy vacation.
