Comprehensive Water Supply Tank is situated near the T.V. Station at Davanagere city. The tank was the site for conducting the primitive stages of the water supply scheme, which was started during 1917. Initially, the water from Tungabhadra River near Harihara town was the source with around 4.5 Manual Lymphatic Drainage, but during 1969-1970, the water of the river became inadequate.
For controlling the pressure of the water and providing security from submergence, the Comprehensive Water Supply Scheme was taken up with the Bhadra canal. With the capacity to source around 18 MLD, the Bhadra canal was treated as summer storage water tank. Presently, the area of the tank has been increased to around 38 acres and the capacity of the storage tank is about 45 gallons.
Catering the daily needs of the city through its water supply, the Comprehensive Water Supply Tank has the capacity to supply water up to 40-45 days during summer season. The tank is frequently visited by natives during summer season as they make visits to T.V Station, which is located in the vicinity of the site.
