Considering the offseasn tarriff, overall experience was good. On the first day we stayed in a double room as no booking was available, then moved on to cottage. Rooms have old look but clean and neat. Food is buffets type and is average homely type. In anycase any restaurants are available nearby.

Best Experience: Check in time is 9. a.m. But we reached at 7 O\' clock. As there was a room available, we could check in immediately. They did not made us to wait till 9 O\'clock. It has an excellent website. Moves fast and no hastles.

Worst Experience: No worst example as such...except that hot water is available only in the morning till 10 O\'clock. But upon request they would have had obliged... since staff were very courteous...we didn\'t try

Worst Experience: i think that had we stayed somewhere else, it would have been worse (when i go through other hotel reveiws) :-) . our stay here was quite good

The off season rates here are great value. We had a Deluxe double suite around 2000 sq ft for less than Rs 500 a day plus 15% discount on more than 3 nights stay. Room was very comfy and spacious. Good view of the garden and valley. The hotel is on a small hillock 5 minutes walk from the shopping area yet quiet and peaceful.

Best Experience: Staff were extremely courteous and eager to please. Morning coffee is served literally within 5 minutes.

Worst Experience: Food is terrible stodge. Plus point is that 5 minutes walk away are several excellent restaurants in all budget ranges.

I have visited Ooty on January 1st 2005 with my family. It was a great trip. We went to Mettupalayam by Nilgiri Exp. from Chennai and we took the Hill Train from Mettupalayam to Ooty. The approximately 5 hour hill journey was joyful and a great experience. The climate was so good (we hadn’t expected because of heavy winter season). We have stayed for 2 days; and the hot spots are easily accessible within 30 minutes - the lake and boathouse, the Botanical garden, and the highest place of the State “Thotta Betta” and the Rose garden. And of course, many more in Ooty town. Everything was great. Taxis are available at affordable rates. The local administration displays boards at main bus stand and railway station about the destination tourist spot and the fixed charges for taxi. 2 days isn’t enough to see around Ooty; there are many locations around Ooty like Mudumalai Forest and many others too.

Best Experience: The Rose Garden is a wonderful location for children and botany students. There are hundreds of varieties of rose including green and black rose, which is very rarely seen at any other place. The renovated boat house is superb.

Worst Experience: The worst is sudden rain and mist reduced our program time at few hot spots. Anyone likes to enjoy that too, then no problem.

Although centrally located, Hotel Tamil Nadu is a typical government organisation with bad service and poor maintenance.
