Top Reviews of Coorg Halli Mane
My visit to this hotel in the month of November 2016 with family. Destination was very good. Location of the hotel was located centre of the city was easy to locate. Appearance of the hotel was average from interior and exterior. Check-in check-out was on time. Staff of the hotel were friendly and cooperative. Overall service on time was good. Room was neat and clean and was spacious. Amenities were available in the hotel was in working condition. Food I had taken from the hotel was good in quality and quantity. There was no WI-FI facility. No activities were available in the hotel. I had taken own vehicle. Parking facility available. I will suggest this to other travellers.
We stayed in Coorg Halli Mane for 2 nights (25th and 26th Dec, 2015). I Googled for homestays in online and was impressed by the rustic set up and proximity to Kushalnagar. I called the number provided and got good response, and spoke to, the manager. The rates were almost double than the nearest competitor. Other places charged per room, but here it is charged per head. So, for 3 adults and 2 children (12 and 8 yr), it was RS. 2300 X 4. 5heads X 2 nights = Rs. 20, 700/-, which I feel was a rip off. Advance of Rs. 10, 000/- paid via neft, ICICI. Drive from Bangalore to Kushalnagar was difficult due to extreme traffic (4 day weekend). Kushalnagar is plains (we expected beautiful hilly mountains), and it looked like our neighbourhood! After reaching we realised, it was a resort, and not a homestay. The balance payment was paid before check-in. The building was a 4 room house with attached baths, named in local Kodagu names. The ambiance was appropriate (we expected a village, rustic look and feel and it was right). The toilet was clean and ok, but could be better. Hot water was not readily available. It need to be informed to the manager and specially requested. There was a pool with a few slides and water games, but did not used it due to cold temperature. The food was served in an open area with bonfire, with a raised platform for dance etc. Food served at 8:30pm, with local veg and non-veg food. The food was excellent and quite homely. The music was extremely loud and the sound mixing was very poor. The patrons who were trying to dance were put off by sudden stops and starts in the music. It was handled by a teenage looking guy with absolutely no knowledge on mixing, music or even the occasion. The manager rushed in to save the scene but the poor equipment did not allow him any benefit. We could here peppy, DJ's music from the nearby resort. The manager arranged a local driver, who charged Rs. 600-700/ day. The driver was extremely good and acted as a guide. He spoke in heavily accented Tamil, but luckily understood Malayalam. We did boat ride (Elephants were impossible to see, due to huge crowd of tourists), had lunch in a good Malayali run restaurant, visited Nisargadhama etc. He took us to a known shop where we bought some spices, coffee, homemade wine etc. We returned to Halli Mane by 7:30, and the dinner was pathetic. The rotis were like papad! Next day was planned 6am start, so we settled balance bills (milk, coffee etc). We requested for hot water by 5:30, so took the mobile number of the helpful old man who was responsible for boiler. He was very prompt and we got hot water in time. The driver was waiting at his home, whom we picked up, while driving to Talacauvery. Pros: Friendly staff, good food, good spices and coffee, secluded resort and good for couples. Cons: Lousy music, so-so infrastructure and high cost per person. Useful: Local driver, Lokesh.
Purpose : team outing from office ( mix of youth and mid generation). Excellent experience, went in winter jan 3 2015 Amenities: Cute and neatly maintained resort with all modern amenities. Good clean rooms with minor themes, good bathrooms(western with flush) and hot water on demand. 3 sharing allowed with extra bed on floor, neat beds and blankets. Swimming pool with rides and music from good system during water games. Freedom to drink and party near the pool. Freedom to chose or play own music. Village games available on demand. TV and cable not required for the setting. Kitchen always open with choice of sides for alcoholics and drinkers. Swimming any time of the day allowed. Biggest plus for water lovers like me. Dance floor and camp fire at night with choice of music so that you can dance till you drop. Good place for both family outing and friends. Service : All the staff very courteous, eager to serve even at 1. 00 am in the night. Especially Mr. Gopal, will serve you drinks and provide pickle and onion even at gory midnight or on demand. Soda and chilled mineral water too. The best of the lot. Food is average and always more than manageable. Vegetarians have lesser variety but on demand food can be expected to be courteous staff and owner who can arrange. Advice: Best to go any time of the year but prefer winters. Enjoyment would be more. Travel instantly on the go without thinking twice whenever felt like for an outing. Provides the comfort of, " its our place!!! ". Meals are different and capture the essence of Coorg. Go in small groups of 8-10. Very near to all possible tourist destination in and around Coorg. So spend day outside and come back to relax at resort or just chill the entire day at resort if you want to. Owner is accommodative of the pricing for repeat clients like me. Things differently: Nothing different. Just go there to drink dance, let your hair down, laze around, gather yourself, gain a moment, breathe... Relax and come refreshed back.. The travel distance is most awesome.... You wont even feel the time or distance of travel...
Location of the hotel was excellent and I was able to reach the hotel easily without any difficulty. I visited there by own car with my family. Parking facility was available there. Inside and outside look of the hotel was awesome. Overall, my stay in the hotel was fantastic. Check-in and check-out procedure was smoothly done. Services were fast and staff behaviour was also friendly. I booked heritage room there and it was very nice. All basic amenities were available like TV, AC, geyser, etc. I had my food inside the hotel and quality and quantity wise, the food was very good. They served complimentary breakfast and dinner. Swimming pool was available there for more entertainment. Sightseeing trip was arranged by our own. Coorg place is lovely destination for outing. Money wise, the hotel was value for money and I would like to recommend this hotel to other travellers.
I went to this hotel in may 2016 with my friends to celebrate one of my friends b'day This location was good and amenities like pool, rain dance, dj were most attractive Because in hotel we were getting pool but not dj with dj light and rain dance and also a stage where you can go and dance and that was near the dining area me with my friend did the cake cutting for my friends b'day at stage and then we danced on the stage and that was at dinner time when all the other guest was also having there dinner and we were feeling like we were doing a dance performance and there is big audience is there to see and enjoying our performance. We loved it specially. We went in this hotel in early morning though the check in time was 12 pm but we asked the owner Sujoy that our bus will be reaching Kushalnagar in early morning So can we check-in at that time and he agreed and I called up him in morning 4. 30 am he picked up the call talked very politely and guided us how to reach at his location and also told auto guy. And Staff there very timely handling. Food and drinks was not good if you are from north India side than you are not gonna like the food, quality of the food was below average. We order snacks in the evening time and that was very oily and taste was not good. But overall I'll say good place to stay.
