Hotel Review of Alath-Cad Estate Bungalow
Comments: My overall experience was not very good. I had expected a homely environment but the hosts were missing. I just saw them on the day I landed when I was checking in. After that they were never available. There was only one person serving food, looking after the rooms and everything else. The service was very poor. Food was below averge quality.
Best Experience: I dont think I had any good experiences in my stay. Coorg is a nice place and we did enjoy whenever we went to Madikeri or visited the places around it. Lots of greenery.
Worst Experience: Power was a perennial problem. Till we went and told the hosts that electricity was not there, they would not put on the backup. Service was bad as there was only one person to look after everything probably being offseason but still you expect a basic service level. There was no one we could ask to help us look around the estate. Seems that there were a few spots in the estate which were worth going to.

Alathcad turned out to be quite a dump.. It was rated so highly in Outlook and we selected the most expensive 'deluxe' room. Neatness standards were abymal, the staff was surly and the manager kept telling us to complain directly to the owner ( Mrs. Mudaiya) saying that many before had complained but no action had been taken and how he was understaffed and couldn't maintain the place adequately with his staff. It was my first visit to Coorg, and turned out to be one of the best holidays i've ever had. We(my husband and myself) went there for the weekend. Took a trian to Mysore on Saturday early morning and then hired a cab from there to Coorg. We had booked a room the prevoius day. We reached there by afternoon, had lunch and then went to see Abbey Falls and also Raja's Seat. Came back to Alathcad and had dinner....

Its a fantastic place. A word of caution: Just go there and relax do not go site seeing. The best part of alathcad is that cell phones dont work everywhere except at one point on top of a hill which is 2-3 minutes walking distance...
