club mahindra, coorg was absolutely fantastic.....right from the time we checked in till our check-out, everything was arranged in such a way as to give us a total holiday experience...the staff was v.courteous, polite, patient and willing to listento and implement our every demands...the service though a tad slow according to mumbai standards was quite effecient...the rooms, the surroundings, the fun zone, the adventure activities all in all contributed in making this one of our truly memorable holidays

Best Experience: let me start with the rooms ...all the rooms have a lcd t.v(sony bravia...no less) with a dvd player...even the studio rooms are excellent with a nice little balcony and an excellent view of the dense vegetation below....the rooms are v.neat and clean, the bathrooms come with state of the art jaguar showetr system...the adventure activity is superb with activities like ladder climb, spider web, burmah bridgs, suspension bridge, valley crossing, earthquaake walk and so on....the fun zone is equipped with lots of activities for adults and kids alike. i really liked the courtesy and excellent service of the staff...even the chef would come over and have a chat with us regarding the food...all in all a complete family holiday

Worst Experience: service as mentioned earlier is a tad slow compared to metro stds...but hey...u\'re on a vacation so don\'t get hyper...gym is absolutely functional with no dumb-bells, a single treadmill, exercycle and multiutility machine....v.less space for aerobic and other exercise...no a.c in the gym!!!!!... the ayurvedic health centre is also disappointing because it isa shack-like hutment with 3 seperate rooms for various ayurvedic masssages for which they charge a bomb and the facility as of now are not worth it.... i\'mtold that within 3 months they\'re going to have a spanking new gym with ultra-modern facilties and a big ayurvedic entre for whicha lot of construction activity was going on right now... the quality of food can sometimes range from absolutely sumptuous to downright average....the same food-item on diff days would taste utterly different....and the service well u know it.....takes a lot of time but the staff is v.polite and helpful and that helps....my overall experience to sum up would be WONDERFUL and i would definitely recoomend a stay to anyone planning to go to coorg esp with family and kids....

Hello!!! to all living out of the bags. I recently took a holiday at the Club Mahindra Kodagu Valley....Wonderful place... i mean Coorg for its natural beauty. CM-Kodagu Valley location by itself is beautiful and scenic but then you r cut-off from everything. For basic necessities you need to drive 5 KM and thats a lot considering that theres nothing in between... Transport is expensive. Tell you what if you are looking for solitude.. then its a fantastic place to relax and lay back.. Imagine 12 Deg at night... The accomodation is fascinating and the 1BR rooms that we stayed had a view of the valley. I am not sure about the Studio apartments. They do have a nice nature trail (chargeable for any activities but tis worth). My wife went for one of those Burma bridge or something of that sort. The swimming pool is small although and u have some crazy people around. .Food is great and reasonable... 600 p.p/day.. They have a buffet system& yes an excellent CHEF- SUMAN... My toddler who is 2 year old has his likes but Suman made sure that he didnt meet disappointment.. CM also has an exclusive Veggie treat restaurant. They have indoor recreational activities... beware of that housie game... Thats for making money for CM. Money pooled and the money distributed has a huge difference. You might be better off counting your luck. For guests/members;- the amount of money you pay for a membership and the ASF collected by CM i do not rate it as a Five star. Glad if it can get away with a 3* but for its accomodation I would settle down with a 4* as having stayed at 5* properties around the world luxury & service should definitely have a special meaning. Negative:- A lot Housekeeping :- The day that I arrived I asked for some tea bags and some milk satchets... never arrived even until the next day after having spoken to the Housekeeping manager. Too lousy. So much so that they dont even lift their heads to see that the wall clock hadent been working for days. The microwave wasnt working Kitchen: Their cabinet bears a kind of stink as like some cockroaches infestation. It beacuse of the humidity acting on those wooden cabinets. Check in: I had to spend 10 min waiting to be attended. When I asked a waiter for a glass of water he directed me to the restaurant downstairs... this after having driven for 4 hrs on the steep mountains. Nobody seem to bother.. No reception.. unlike in Goa where you are greeted on arrival. I think the guys at the reception were busy in their brisk business of accompanied package tours.. Bathroom: Do not have proper labelling for Hot/Cold taps. Guests: Club Mahindra although markets itself as a five star property but the kind of people it gets is equal to or less then 3 star. people blurping loud in the restaurant.. people crowding near the reception area as though it was a meeting point. guests have no decorum. I hired a private cab for sight seeing Coorg. Coorg has its own beauty. Its a wonderful place to spend good time with family. I would definitely go back ... unsure if Kodagu valley would be my choice.

Best Experience: A visit to the MERCARA COFFEE ESTATE: I was unsure if my mother and my Mother in law were enjoying the place... but i put those doubts to rest when i took them to the MERCARA COLD COFFEE ESTATE.. The variety of plants, saplings for spices was incredible. Coffee beans in various stages... both the moms sort of ignored me & my wife and went busy exploring the place.. Memories are still etched in my mind with the laughter they had. Golden Temple: We paid a visit to the biggest tibetian monestary in India. My toddler who is 2.3 years ran from one door and came out of the other...When he came out of the door he screamed with joy.... like...yeeeeaaaahhh (as though he got freed from clutches)... this when there were about 5-600 monks praying...

Worst Experience: Ghosh: Club Mahindra itself... its all there in the review

It\'s one of the best holidays we have had. Thanks to the impecable service from CM and their staff. The staff and their service is the highlight of this place in addition to the location and ambience and the multitude of things to do. There was pracatically nothing that we could complaint about. 7 out of 7 for the overall exprience.

Best Experience: The staff go that extra mile to make your stay a grand affair. We (7 of us) wanted to go to visit Nagarhole on a day when they do not have the service, but they made it happen for us. They ensured that we had lunch (as the trip is an all day affair), we had mentioned that we would want specific type of lunch and they made it happen again. We were extremely satisfied and in fact there was so much food we had to give some off. There was one experience with one restaurant which was not pleasant, I ensured that this was raised with the resort manager and within the next 4 hours the entire place was abuzz with activity to ensure that the next meal they served there would be no complaints - they do take feedback seriously and act on the same.

Worst Experience: Nothing.

I stayed at Club Mahindra resort when I travelled to Coorg with family in Nov 2008. Clearly one of the most memorable trips. The resort was one of the best I\'ve ever seen with lots of activities especially for children. The weather was pleasant, though it was slightly cold in the evenings... we had carried light woollens but didnt need it.

Best Experience: The hightlight of Club Mahindra @ Coorg was the staff. From the front office person to the pool attendent, they were extremely courteous and helpful and made us feel at home. Really smart people. I must mention that the staff member who checked me in was one of the most attractive beings I have met and extremely courteous. Wrt sight seeing, Dubare elephant camp and the Golden Temple Monastery are must visit places.

Worst Experience: Food was the only pain point. The resort had their own coffee shop and restaurant but very expensive especially if you are travelling with more than 4 family members. Dinner was priced at Rs. 450/- per head. Since the resort was located pretty far off from town there were not many options outside the resort. You have some food joints at Madekeri (5 kms) but far from satisfactory.

We own two weeks here and really enjoy the location and all that the Club Mahindra Kodagu Valley offers. The Club Mahindra Coorg a great place to stay and made everyone feel welcome. It is a weathered resort but the location more than makes up for it. The staff make sure you have everything you need. When i stayed there the staff were the best. We love the location and can\'t wait until we can return for our second week in Nov. Not for some one looking for 5 stars but just right for the down to earth people!

Best Experience: The staff make sure you have everything you need. When i stayed there the staff were the best.

Club Mahindra Coorg for making our stay enjoyable and for all the really good guidance.

Best Experience: The Club Mahindra Coorg staff are the friendliest young people anywhere, we made good friends there and plan to go back. The bar is lacking in service though and closes early, but belly up to the bar and your basic drinks are easily available.

Worst Experience: N/A

Gives me an inspiration to do the same for my family! At least till the next holiday!!!

Best Experience: ‘This weekend we are off to Coorg! We got a free holiday as a part of package from Club Mahindra enrollment’, I told my friend - Oh! Those guys were after us also! My husband, made an excel sheet and showed them how cheap holidaying has become with hotels offering off-season discounts and cheaper rates on booking in advance. ‘We are already members now’, I said doubtfully. At least four days no cooking! I consoled myself. I, my husband Ranjit, our two boys Aryan - 6 yr. old and Aarav - 1yr. 3 months started our journey from Bangalore to Coorg. We reached Club Mahindra Kodagu valley resort around 3.45 PM tired. (Roads are bad.) I had read in the brochure and the booking voucher about its RCI 5 star ratings, Club Mahindra Kodagu style cottages, architectural brilliance- but that rainy afternoon when we entered this strange land of warm smiling faces, all I could think of was FOOD! The lobby manager sent us to the restaurant first, while he finished with the check-in formalities. That moment I understood- they speak our language! We were taken to our apartment in a battery operated car which the children enjoyed. It was the cottage in the hills one always wanted. The unbelievably beautiful sight of lush green valley, the detailing of the tiles, the warm ambience of the furniture, paint, fabrics, lights, minute details like umbrellas in the wardrobes, clothes dryer in the balcony, not a speck of dirt to be seen, even a swan made of towel sitting on the bed! I imagined myself arranging clothes delicately in the dresser as if it was my family heirloom! Absent mindedly I asked, ‘Where is the AC remote’? ‘There is no AC m’am’ ‘Oh! You mean the air is naturally so fresh and cool? ‘Yes m’am. There are room heaters if you may so require.’ ‘O.K., alright!’ Late evening we set off towards the hillock. This is the activity center. We were surprised to see how professionally activities are conducted! Hats off to Barun and his team. The DJ night was electrifying. Children rocked the dance floor. 6th April 2008 6.30 am: wake up call 7.30 am: all of us ready [with great difficulty] 8.00 am: were whisked away from breakfast table into the Swaraj Mazda We were off to Dubarey elephant camp - 35 kms from the resort. A small river has to be crossed on a motorboat. Here we experienced an endearing and heart warming experience of bathing the elephants, feeding, taking photos and enjoying an elephant ride. Tickets for the same were already arranged by our tour guide Ranjith. (My husband’s namesake) Time is the key factor here since the show is over by 10 am. Many of the late coming tourists were left disappointed. I had forgotten to pack water and biscuits for children, but to my relief and surprise Ranjith (tour guide) distributed the same to everyone. (Can’t put this gesture on an excel sheet. Can you?) After lunch Aryan joined other kids for a picnic and later we all enjoyed the fun games. Sweet chirping of birds woke us up the next day. As we relaxed (though could have joined the plantation trail or learned salsa), Aryan had a busy schedule with clay modeling, painting, cricket, wildlife movie. We did make it to the shop though to select some fresh custom ground coffee. The Lounge - sipping fresh coffee with books on coffee, amidst the coffee plants with 10 varieties of coffee to choose from, how often does that happen! Evening Bonfire was great. Again Barun had managed to get all age groups, people from different states engrossed in games and dances. Next day we were going to visit the Namdroling monastery on the way to Bangalore. In Club Mahindra Kodagu Resort the food is great with lots of choices and separate kids’ menu. The staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming even when we entered the restaurant at 10.45 pm and ordered ala carte! Each and every member of the staff made 100 percent effort to make our stay comfortable. Gives me an inspiration to do the same for my family! At least till the next holiday!!!

Worst Experience: none
