Coorg food, sight-seeing and shopping options
Getting food was a problem there. Being a vegeterian, we struggled to get a GOOD food. There is one hotel called 'ATITHI' [near police station/Bus Stand] which serves veg food. But service was hectic.

Hotel Review of Pompei Valley
Comments: We reached there around 8p.m and had quite a hard time finding the place, though the host was on mobile guiding us, courtesy no sign boards. When we reached the place we were a little taken aback as the place looked very eeire at nite and we could not see any cottages nearby. But if you are someone wanting privacy and a forest like ambience in an estate THIS IS THE PLACE. They have totally 5 cottages and it is all amply distanced from each other for privacy. The hosts themselves are quite friendly and regarding the food I SHOULD MENTION THE NON-VEG DISHES WERE VERY TASTY, though I would not vouch for the veg dishes. The cost of the food for resort standards was quite inexpensive I would say. There was not much of activity to be done inside the resort other than a casual walk around the plantation for half an hour or so. But if you just want to stay away from the hectic city life and relax in the room it is fine. Ofcourse you would find some places at an hour's drive or so. The service was quite normal with just two people attending to all the guests. There is no intercom and you have to use your mobile to get in touch with the hosts(caution:the coverage is very poor) or wait for the service guy who comes once in a while. Overall the ambience is good and defenitely worth the money and the hosts were very accomodating and help you out for anything, though the service could be improved in terms of having one more service staff.
Best Experience: the Non-veg dishes the hosts prepared were excellent and rates are quite normal. The ambience was very good.
Worst Experience: There is a bit of insect and snail menace which you can avoid by switching of the lights and keeping the door locked all the time.

Coorg was a tough decision to make since everywhere was going to be hot! Abby falls was a major deciding factor and so we went over the Good Friday weekend. While the drive itself is very scenic most of the way, the ride is quite bumpy. The good thing about going in that general direction is that there's other interesting places to visit. These being the Kushalnagar monastries, the Dubare elephant camp (it's a must see!), Nisargdhama etc. Abby falls...

Hotel Review of Pompei Valley
We went together as a couple during the rainy season. Although, the place had frequent rains we really enjoyed our stay. We anticipated it and brought rain gear, plus you get a few hours of day of clear skies...well at least not raining ones. The cabin we had, had two bedrooms, though we only used one. It came equipped with a nice clean bathroom, full size bed, with full window to watch nature from the comforts of the bed, a...

Hotel Review of Pompei Valley
It has been a good home stay for us. The room sizes are right sized for small families. The hospitality is good. There is no activity that we can indulge in Pompei valley. Some kind of indoor activities or a games room will help. The food is pretty average and pricey for the quality that is provided. Other than the food, it has been a pretty nice experience. Thanks to Tom and his team for making this new year memorable....

Hotel Review of Pompei Valley
The place is quaint and charming with a very laid back feel to it. Perfect place for a weekend getaway to rejuvenate the senses. The place is run by a very hospitable couple who make some of the most sumptuous local food and are ever willing to be of service. The cottages are a little small though, but cosy enough for a couple to stay in. The resort is located at a little distance from the city so you have...
