Top Reviews of Corbett Machaan Resort
The resort is nice located within the jungle... in fact we heard that a deer was killed within 1/2km range of the resort in the night.. that's how much its in the jungle!! The resort is decently maintained.. the staff is good and helpful.. we were welcomed with a drink and then shown to the room.. The rooms were good, nice beds.. toiletries were excellent. After getting fresh, we had our breakfast. in spite of being late they had maintained the breakfast buffet for us and were happy to service hot breakfast.. mind it their staff was already busy with lunch, but they never made that a reason for not serving anything we wanted and that too fresh and hot. After that we went straight for the swimming pool which is again properly maintained... after playing for couple of hours in the pool we headed for lunch.. Lunches were all veg, but the food quality was great.. after lunch we rested and then had out tea over the Machaan (Traditionally its a tiger spotting structure made symbolic to the hotel name).. we had a few rounds of cricket, table tennis.. they have decent equipments for all of these and also many more.. also few table games. There was bonfire arranged with the evening with a singer cum guitarist! The singer was ok, but was decent fun.. Only suggestion here would be to have some interactive games, where people can get involved instead of only listening.. also with generally bit slow songs being sung, it was not possible to dance over them... But the singer was readily accepting song requests as well as guest singers!! On our request the resort had arranged a night safari for us.. which will go around but outside the forest. It was not great, strictly ok... but the driver as well took us to a village temple where it being navratri, devi pooja was on... Next day, the resort had arranged a small trek in the morning through the jungle to Koshi river.. there are chances on spotting deers during this, but as we were late we missed those, but had a great time bathing in the river.. cold water!!! After our breakfast and and fooling around, followed by lunch and then we headed for the safari.. the guy had come to pick us up from the resort. Our travel agent 'The Indian Voyage' had already done our booking online, so we hardly had any wait time.. Unfortunately, we did not spot any tigers :-( The last day, we had adventure activities planned on the Koshi bridge... Flying fox, Bollywood Stunt, River Crossing.. but the hit of the day was Bridge Fall... It was a great experience.. Somu, the organizer, was a nice guy! We left the resort at 9pm to head for Delhi after relishing our dinner, last resort food of the day!! Overall, a great resort, good helpful staff, good arrangements and activities!!! The only reason to cut on the room rating as the wash basin platform is a bit high for comfortable use and the basin tap was loose and tea maker in the room was not clean.
This was a group tour and it was totally unplanned. We decided to visit the place just a day in advance. Called the resort booking office and thankfully we got confirmed bookings. The booking staff were really helpful. This was a smooth transition. We reached in the morning. Resort is well-located. They have very good atmosphere in and around the resort. The theme and pathways inside the resort are very very impressive. Everyone gonna like it. We were very happy to see the room interiors and exteriors. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable. Toilets are clean and hygienic. After check-in to our rooms we directly went to the pool. Pool is well-maintained and clean. We enjoyed playing for 2 hours inside the pool. The morning breakfast- We can never forget the taste of Poori Bhaji. Oho! Pani a gya! Was very tasty. The dinner:- Quality and taste of the food is unforgettable. Dont miss it! The guitar show was fun.
I checked out lot of hotels as guided by my travel agent but after checking out reviews on holiday IQ and Trip advisor, I decided to go with this one, mainly due to the reason it gave me a feel of wild resort on internet. Now as for my comments there were lot of good and bad parts of the hotel Reception - They are courteous and we were greeted with smiles. Tough we arrived by train we were given accommodation before check in time without any extra charges They made sure that we never felt uncomfortable Rooms - Rooms are beautiful, something unique which is not there at our homes. Proper sunlight and ventilation in the rooms and were spacious. There are couple of things missing like luggage table but you would not mind that, if every thing else is all right. Restaurant and food - I can bet on that, you will lick your fingers. We specially requested them to let us meet master chef Gopal. I did ask for some tips about cooking and he did give me some :-) Entertainment - The resort conducts live guitar shows in the evening which was the best part. You must enjoy cycling as it is all together a different feel to roam on cycles in such a beautiful location. We observed that deers were only able to notice us when we reached really close to them as there was no noise made by cycles. Machaan - The machaan is beautiful and nice place to sit out. But I feel certain rules should be made by the resort to sit on the machaan as there were some young couples sitting on the machaan making noise, which made us sit at a different place. tough we would have enjoyed more sitting on the machaan. safaris - They are difficult to get as you have to stand in a Que to get them. But safari desk helped us considerably though me missed the tiger sighting. But we enjoyed the jungle and freshness in the air. Over all - It was more than satisfactory and specially when you get personalized attention. Couple of advise 1) provide a bigger parking spaces for vehicles 2) Lawns can be more maintained . Finally I would like to thank corbett machaan resort for making our stay very very special.
I went to Nainital by cab. Parking area was available in the resort. Resort was located inside the jungle. Location and look of the resort were superb. Staff was friendly and cooperative. They responded well to our needs. Room was neat, clean, and spacious. AC, TV, and geyser etc were running properly. Jungle view was available from the room. Check-in and check-out was timely. Food was delicious. Nothing was available in the activities there. Sightseeing was not organized by the resort. Jim Corbett is awesome place. I went to Jim Corbett with my family in August 2014.
This is just the right place if you plan to relax and be surrounded by nature, away from the city noise. This resort served as our pick-up point for the Dhikala core zone in Jim Corbett National Park. This place has beauty, calmness, adventure and entertainment. It offers great options like cycling, swimming, badminton, TT, and lots more for passing your time and enjoying nature. Being located in the forest area, it gives a sense of thrill and excitement. Amazing cottage style rooms with great service and comfort. Highly recommended for nature and adventure lovers.
