We booked a package through Makemytrip which included a stay at this resort, in their premium cottage category. Cons: From the photos, the room looked spacious and attractive, but on arrival, we found that the actual room was much more onlooking. The nice bit was the porch outside where we enjoyed a little sun in the morning and played a game or two. There was a mention in the package of daily bonfires in the evening, but during our two-night stay, we had to persistently request the staff on the second night to start up the bonfire in the patch of lawn across our room. This was because there was a large group staying in the tents which are located a little away and below the cottages, and the staff was busy attending them. Also, the group was playing really loud Punjabi music all evening which wasn't quite to our taste. Pros: However, the good things were we enjoyed the company of the neighbouring cottages' occupants who were also enjoying the bonfire, and the food, though typical fare, was freshly made and room service was prompt. The included breakfast was offered in the restaurant close to the entrance and was satisfactory, and the staff accommodated an early breakfast for us on the morning of our checkout and even packed sandwiches for the journey. Overall: For the price we paid, I would have liked a better room standard. The tents could possibly be worth the price due to the slightly adventurous experience, though we didn't opt for it as it was only available for one of the two nights during our stay. Overall, the property is not as beautiful as shown in the pictures and so can be misleading. The hotel should rectify this.
Overall experience was a good one. We stayed in tents, which are really deluxe category. The rooms are thoughtfully designed for a comfortable stay - including pakka bathrooms with running hot & cold water and all modern fittings, well fitted air conditioner that made the tent cool in few minutes (even during the hot day) and good furniture and lighting. Service boys are prompt but need a bit of polishing. Restaurant is non AC but well covered to keep it cool. The food was good (could have been more variety).
It was a good trip. Very well arranged by Amit Lawania(Holidayiq travel consultant) . Starting from transport to safari. He kept us updated of all the changes, and didn\'t mind when we called him up at 2 AM in the night for some clarifications (even after we made the payment). Location of the resort is good, but this time of the year it\'s all barren land.... there is a river that flows behin the resort during rainy season and that would be the best time to get there. This time it was pretty hot out there. Facilities at resort are good and management staff was very accomodative. They even dig the hole, put in a pole and halogen lamps on top of it when our group wanted to play Volleyball when it was all dark. We all appreciated that. Food was good and stewards & other staff was very courteous. Had a great time at pool, and it was kind of pool party that we had there. They arranged the stuff (booze and snacks) at pool side. We enjoyed a lot there. Though snacks could have been better, no one touched muttton snacks.
Corbett (Jim Corbett, Ramnagar) had been one destination we were tired of hearing praises from our friends and near and dear ones. First wildlife in its true form, no caged animals and the beauty of nature surrounding the region are the attractions this place boasts of. Ours was a short 1 night and 2 days stay at the place, and we got our reservations done online. Shortly after betting the confirmation mail of the booking and rang up the staff to schedule my hotel transfers from the station. The staff and management was extremely polite and courteous. They charged us fairly for the pick-up and drop. It's not common in hospitality industry to get more than what you pay for. The resort was what we had seen in the photograph. The rooms(tents in our case) were big, spacious, clean. The attached toilets to the tents were also airy and well supplied with towels and gels. The hotel had a nice big swimming pool in the centre. It had decent spread and we saw various plants and fruit trees (labelled for visitors, new to the flaura and fauna) which was a new and novel experience. There is a lot of power shed in the area, but these guys have generators and TV in the common lounge/restaurant area. Which kept us entertained in the evening. The biggest highlight was the food. Simple, rich, non-oily. We all noshed on the food at dinner, breakfast. My friends told me that even the non-veg was done to perfection, and they refused to have any other food the next day. So we again had lunch the following day in the resort itself. While waiting for our turn for the safari, we played table tennis(the bats were all worn though) and pool (again the sticks needed repair), but it served our purpose and we spend close to 3 hours in the duration of our stay and enjoyed to the full. A 5 star for the food once again.
A beautiful place in the jungles and according to me the best in Corbett. The staff is cooperative, the manager is a wonderful person and the chef is just amazing. One thing which can ruin our trip is FOOD, if you have everything good but poor food, your trip will not be good but thanks to the chef of this wonderful resort, he didn't let that happen as food was much more than satisfactory. Swimming pool, a Pool table and few more activities available within the resort itself. My advice - "Go Corbett, Go Corbett Woods. " Live in tents only if you are with friends, in case you are with family, select rooms.
Came to Jim Corbett to relax for 2 days and be worry less for this period. This is exactly what Corbett woods offered us. Such an amazing and helpful staff, very tasty food specially the moong Dal halwa they made once. Loved the buffet spread and calmness of the resort. It was a treat to our eyes the moment we entered the resort, very beautiful and neat rooms. The best part about the resort was the homely and personal touch they added to our your needs.
