About Coronation Bridge
Coronation Bridge, an excellent example of British design and architecture was built over River Teesta between Salugara and Kalijhora. The Bridge, also known as Sevoke Bridge was constructed in 1930 for connecting West Bengal to North Eastern territory.
Constructed at the confluence of Rangeet River and Teesta River, the bridge was named by the British emperor to mark the Coronation of King George V. Enveloped in high green mountains on both sides, Coronation Bridge gives visitors breathtaking views of River Teesta flowing below.
Situated around 20 km from Siliguri, this bridge is positioned nearby Sevokeswari Kali Mandir in Siliguri. One of the most important bridges in the north-eastern region, this bridge joins Jalpaiguri with Darjeeling.
