The splendid Council House is a symbol of exquisite architecture during the British Raj. Today it functions as the Vidhan Sabha Bhawan. The foundation stone was laid in 1922 by Sir H. Butler and the construction took 6 years. However, a view of this building reflects the grandeur and elegance of the era with an octagonal shaped building and a beautiful done that is adorned in minuet details with a peacock with its full plumage. The lavish lawns and beautiful landscaped gardens add elegance to the beautiful symbol of artistic British architecture intermingled with Indian ethos.
