Cybele hill resort, Wayanad
Mandad P O, Muttil, Muttil-Nedumbala Rd, Kalpetta, Kerala 673122
I visited Wayanad it was a family trip. I went there in the month of December 2016. The location of the hotel was an isolated place and we have to take the jeep of the hotel. The appearance of the hotel was good and I have taken the glass house. We could pull the screen of it and see the greenery of the surroundings. The front office was normal and it was a house. The service was good enough. The room was on the height place and it was good to stay inside the glass room. We had the complimentary food and it was delicious. There was no place to do activities. The Campfire was there and they were charging extra money for that. They would provide the travel desk facility.
We traveled to the Wayanad in the month of December 2016. That was a family holiday trip. I booked my stay through online. The destination was an excellent place. That was a different experience. The best way to reach the resort is by own vehicle. The ambiance of the resort was good. The reception staff had not delayed. The reception was away from the resort. The service staff was responded well. The pick and drop facility was good. The food service was not good. We booked two rooms. One room was good but other was not good. The food was not very good. The verity of food was not available. The resort is far away from all the places so it will take time to go anywhere.
I went to Wayanad in the month of December 2016 during holiday trip with friends. The destination of the place was good and the location of the hotel was below average that was not up to the mark. The appearance of the hotel was average. That was not looking good and the front office of the hotel was average that was hesitation to do the help and all.I booked my stay through the friend. The overall services in the hotel were below average and the room facility in the hotel was good. The food facility in the hotel was below average that was not up to the mark and there was complimentary food but the items were very less. But there were no pick up and drop facility in the hotel.I was just ok during my stay but they have to provide the better fun activities in the hotel.
The stay at the hotel was very pleasant. The staff were friendly. But the food was average. Kindly improve on the good quality. Also the hot water facility was not available even though we were informed that there would b hot water after letting out 2-3 buckets of cold water
Cybele resort is the one of the best resorts in Wayanad Location is little bit tricky but it is adventurous and good one The reception was good and food was cooked based on our requirements The room was cleaned and good ambience The view from the resort is excellent The hospitality showed by the hotel people was down earth I would recommend this resort
Good one while the cost of food is very high the place is very Romantic with others and the climate and the service is been very gud which truely make.a wonderful experience on the day as I am photographer I have to been shotted there wonderful locations on
We are from Bangalore. The stay at Cybele hill resort was wonderful. We had been to this resort in October, in a big group, all of us were couples and hence had booked all three types of rooms. We had been there for relaxation and sight seeing. We stayed for 2 nights. We checked out on 3rd day morning. 2nd & 3rd day we went out for sight seeing. All the room types were very well maintained. The environment was excellent. The staff were also very good and their services were excellent. Couple of minor things just to be aware of so you do not get into surprises. 1. You will certainly get the hot water in the early morning. However, you should leave the tap opened anywhere from 3-10 buckets. Yes, true. That's because, the rooms at lower edges are about 300 mtrs away from the water heater. Believe it or not, in case if you stop the tap for even 5-10 secs in between and open again, the water would have become completely cold. You will need to leave the tap opened again for 3-10 buckets depending on the distance of your room. Also please note that the water for bathing was a bit brownish. Neither we had any health problems nor did we bother to ask them about it. So just an FYI. 2. ( For first timers to resorts ) As in any resort, you will be charged for mineral waters, coffee, tea, juice, etc. anything that is out of what they have agreed on the papers. And the cost will be obviously higher. For ex., a coffee would cost, say, 35/-. These are just normal in any resort. So do not be annoyed. They provide you lift in the jeep only once out of resort and back to resort each day. Anything more than that would be chargeable. 3. We all had opted for couple package. However, we did not found it interesting in anyway. So you may choose to avoid it. 4. You will find indoor games. And its really good to take a long walk inside or outside the resort compound. Since its not a plain land, rather top of the hill, you will have a good trek if you are not used to such walking. 5. Food. The food at all the time was excellent. Especially I loved the last day's idiappam. It was toooooooooooo good. 6. As far as scenery is concerned, only one part of the resort was good. That you would see from their websites, etc. We could not explore much within the campus as we didn't had much time for it. I would prefer to do that first, if I go next time. 7. You will find leaches only if you go out of the usual path/track. For ex., one of the couple went of the designated walk path for photography. They realized about it after one of us told her about the blood stains on the ground where she was sitting for breakfast several minutes after the photo shooting. Anyway don't worry its not a serious issue. Its only a bit of blood and leaches are good in blood letting, it helps you regenerate good blood ;-) 8. Places we visited in Wayanad. First things first, Your Lunch plan. There are two Udapi Hotels ( if you are vegetarians, we are ). One is in sultanbateri. Another one don't remember the place name. Only ONE of them is GOOD. The one who served in plantain leaves. Sorry, unfortunately, I do not remember which one is where. We had been to Pukatt Lake, Sujipara falls and Edical Caves. Pukatt lake is not a great place. Its like just another lake you will find in every tourist place. Two couples in our group had kids. I took a elephant ride only for my son's (3yrs) sake. It costed Rs. 500/- !!! So be mindful. Both Sujipara falls & Edikal caves are excellent though you need to walk a lot. If you happen to return from Wayanad via gundlupet, don't forget to buy some fresh vegetables fresh from the farms on the main road itself. You won't get such an opportunity in Bangalore. At a stretch on the road beside the farms, boys will be standing on both sides of the road. You will also find off the road shops selling variety of vegetables. you could also go and pluck the vegetable you want directly from the plants if they allow. They at least invited us.
On my casual trip I visited Wayanad. I went there along with my friend in the month of March 2017. We booked the room by calling Matthew. He is the owner of the hotel. The location of the hotel was well placed. There are sightseeing places nearby. We did not find any issues with location. It is placed on the hill station. The appearance of the hotel was beautiful. The hotel is like a magical place. The Front office staff was providing good hospitality. Their treatment was good. The management spoke to travelers very well. The reception area was spacious and well maintained. The service of the hotel was prompt. Whenever we called them they would come on time. It was superb. Owner Matthew was a superb man. He took care of us. On the first day we were in a tree house and on the second day we were in the glass house. The room was well maintained. We had a good view from the room. It is altogether a different service. All basic things were there in the room. We had food in the hotel. It was tasty and delicious. They would bring it on time. There were no other activities. We went for trekking separately. I will suggest other travelers to go for trekking.
It was a vacation with friends. The overall, experience at this hotel was good. The best thing about this hotel was its ambiance. The hotel was conveniently located. I faced slight difficulty to reach the hotel as they had no proper landmark over there to reach the hotel. The surroundings of the hotel were very nice, clean and very well-maintained. The interiors and exteriors of the hotel were very nice. Everything in the hotel was good. The hospitality of the hotel was very good. The service people were very helpful and friendly. But they take time to serve any request. The room given to me was good. It was very spacious, even the bathroom was also very spacious. The room was neat, clean and well-maintained. The furnishings were in clean condition. It was a non AC room. The amenities in the room were all good. I had a mountain view from my room. We had food only once in the hotel. The food was nice in taste, but it was expensive. They had very less varieties of food. I had no problem at check-in and check-out procedure. I was happy with my stay. They had no activity as such. They had not arranged any sightseeing trip for me. I would definitely like to recommend this hotel to other travellers. The hotel was value for money. I would suggest them to make the services a bit faster. They should also provide some activities over there. My advice for other travellers is that it was a very beautiful and peaceful place.
On my relaxation trip with my friends I went to the Wayanad in the month of April 2017. I booked my stay by direct booking. They had maintained greenery very well. They had not used to decorate exterior and interior very costly things but that is reliable and decent. The location was far away from the main road. That is 2 km away from the main road so no traffic and crowd near the hotel. The transportation was available. They were providing services on one single call. Whenever they served the way was very kind. Even they have language problem but still they were managing service very nicely. They were able to give service with the smile. The room was clean and neat. The room was comfortable and the washroom was well maintained. There was a fridge TV wardrobe AC etc. The food was included in the package so whatever they will give that we have to eat. There was no salt chilly powder in the food. The food was not tasty. They were preparing same type food 2 times in a day. They were keeping timings for food. If we will late then we will not get the food. They should be flexible. They took us for tracking and provided a good area to do exercise. There were arrangements of indoor games. They have to improve the quality of the food. If they will do this improvement then this will be the best hotel in that area.
I stayed in Cybele between Feb 5 to 7th 2014 for my honeymoon trip, we reached Calicut station from Chennai at 4 15 am and we were warmly greeted by the cab driver Mr.Varghese arranged by resort , a very gentle middle aged person who drove very carefully and at the same time maintained the speed and we reached the resort office by 6.30 am and there too Mr.Mathews welcomed us and check in was very simple , the biggest surprise for us was he offered us the tree top room though we had booked bamboo cottage only as it was vacant. Treetop room though isn’t at an elevation; you would have great privacy and exp the real nature with sounds of birds all around the room. Room was very comfortable and was clean and food to my surprise was good as being a chennaite that too veggie I was not having high hopes on the taste but I was satisfied. There were so much of maintenance works was happening around and our jeep driver who dropped us 3 days to and fro from office and resort was very friendly and speaks Tamil as well. There are still some scopes for improvement in terms of facilities but cybele is really worth a visit.. But Wayanad as a location was very dry during our visit so it was very hot and I got a feel as though I was in Chennai better time to visit is after the south west monsoon. Anyways nature something beyond our control.
