About Dainkund Peak (Hill)

99%
voted as clean

Dainkund Peak, perched at an altitude of 2755 metre, is the highest mount in Dalhousie. Tourists can enjoy 360° view of the entire valley from this peak. The sound of the breeze passing through the trees makes a musical sound, due to which this peak has also acquired the name, the singing hill.

The top of this hill is occupied by the Indian Air Force and from there a left turn will take tourists to the Pholani Devi Temple. One of the most interesting facts about this temple is that, except a trident there is nothing inside the temple premises. In addition, tourists can also enjoy trekking on this hill.

"View is good from Top" new review

  • 1.0/7
  • Posted 4 weeks ago
Nothing special to visit there. Only highest peak. View is good from top. But not of much fantasy, if you have a lot of time to waste. You can visit there. Also hire taxi and don't travel yourself. As way is very narrow and risky during rain or bad weather.

"Risky and thrill trek"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Jun 30, 2017
Me along with my friends travelled to Dainkund Peak. It was time of february so the trek was limited to a temple only. The path was fully covered in snow and was very small to walk. The trek is steep as well. It is recommended to wear rubber shoes on the trek else it can be very risky.

"Awesome place+Full trekking+nature beauty"

  • 7.0/7

On the way to Khajjiar from Dalhousie, one turn to Dainkund peak. Don't miss to go. Most memorable and peaceful place. In June also we are in clouds. Awesome weather. Full trekking. We are very close to nature. We are at the highest peak of Dalhousie after 1-2 Km walk. It is just like rohtang Manali. The track is bit steep and some people get tired after sometime. It's not at all risky. On the way people selling water, juices, and chocolates with double price.

"Great adventure experience"

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted Jun 9, 2017
Hello Guys

In the first week of January 2017, I visited to Dalhousie.

We started trekking from Allah a bus or point for trekking to Dainkund peak between Dalhousie & khajjiar. It was almost 2-3 hr to reach at Dainkund peak. From Alha your majestic journey will be start and you will get tried. There will be many location you love and after you will reach at top but this is not actually Dainkund peak. At the top is a small tea shop we both take a cup a tea.

When we see something beautiful. You can see the Kailash form this point and snowfall just started.

After this the shop owner tell us the way to Dainkund peak and we move forward in snowfall at the edge of hill. After 1. 5 km trekking we reached finally at Dainkund peak but we reached due to heavy snowfall all the other guys who came to enjoy at this point start to return but me and my friend both enjoyed snowfall and moved forward to Mata mandir about 900 MTR way still there is snowfall and we both were enjoying because it was first time snowfall experience for us. Outreaching mata mandir it's time to move downward you can see the Khajjiar ground from here.

While moving downward we got lost and we headed directly to the road and that was true adventure begin just like no and you have to go downward. But we have to go and we managed. When we reach at road and catch the bus to khajjiar. And rest at khajjiar.

I recommend everyone who is going to Dalhousie must do trekking from Allah. Here your journey will take you to another level.

"A Wonderful Trekking Point"

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted May 30, 2017
It is the highest point of Dalhousie. It is like a trekking point. Approx 8 km to & fro distance to reach by walking & by horse riding. Not advised for seniors & children by walking. No railings available on the way & very narrow walking way. A Beautiful Temple located on the top. Binocular facility available for watching manimahesh mountain view. Cement benches available in the route for taking rest. Water, lemon cold drink, bhelpuri, pani puri, etc available on the route & near the temple.
