Dainkund Peak Overview

Ranked 1 of 26 sightseeing in Dalhousie

Dainkund Peak, perched at an altitude of 2755 metre, is the highest mount in Dalhousie. Tourists can enjoy 360° view of the entire valley from this peak. The sound of the breeze passing through the trees makes a musical sound, due to which this peak has also acquired the name, the singing hill.

The top of this hill is occupied by the Indian Air Force and from there a left turn will take tourists to the Pholani Devi Temple. One of the most interesting facts about this temple is that, except a trident there is nothing inside the temple premises. In addition, tourists can also enjoy trekking on this hill.

View is good from Top

Nothing special to visit there. Only highest peak. View is good from top. But not of much fantasy, if u have alot of time to waste. U can visit there. Also hire taxi and don't travel yourself. As way is very narrow and risky during rain or bad weather.

Risky and thrill trek

Me along with my friends travelled to diankund peak. It was time of february so the trek was limited to a temple only. The path was full covered in snow and was very small to walk. The trek is steep as well. It is recommended to wear rubber shoes on the trek else it can be very risky.

Awesome place+Full trekking+nature beauty

On the way to Khajjiar from Dalhousie, one turn to Dainkund peak. Don't miss to go. Most memorable and peaceful place. In June also we are in clouds. Awesome weather. Full trekking. we are very close to nature. We are at the highest peak of Dalhousie after 1-2 Km walk. It is just like rohtang Manali. The track is bit steep and some people tired feeling after some times. Its not at all risky. On the way people selling water, juices, and chocolotes with double price. rest you see in my pics

Great adventure experience

Hello GuysIn the first week of January 2017 ,I visited to Dalhousie. We started trekking from Alha a bus or point for trekking to dainkund peak between Dalhousie and khajjiar . I was almost 2-3 hr to reach at dainkund peak. From Alha your majestic journey will be start and u will get tried. There will be many location you love and after you will reach at top but this is not actually dainkund peak . At the top is a small tea shop we both take a cup a tea .When we something beautiful ....you can see the Kailash form this point and snowfall just started. After this the shop owner tell us the way to dainkund peak and we move forward in snowfall at the edge of hill . After 1.5 km trekking we reach at finally dainkund peak but we reach due to heavy snowfall all the other guys who come to enjoy at this point start return but me and my friend both enjoy snowfall and move forward to Mata mandir about 900 MTR way still there is snowfall and we both are enjoying because it was first time snowfall experience for us.Aftereaching mata mandir its time to move downward you can see the khaijjar ground from here.while moving downward we get lost and we see directly the road and that's was true adventure Begin just like no and u have to go downward. But we have to go. ..and we managed. when we reach at road and catch the bus to khajjiar . and rest at khajjiar. by I recommend everyone who is going to Dalhousie must trekking from Alha .here ur journey will take you to another level.

A Wonderful Trekking Point

It is the highest point of Delhousie. It is like a tracking point. Approx. 8 km to & fro distance to reach by walking & by horse riding. Not advised for seniors & children by walking. No railings available on the way & very narrow walking way. A Beautiful Temple located on the top. Binocular facility available for watching manimahesh mountain view. Cement benches available in the route for taking rest. Water, lamon cold drink, bhelpuri, pani puri etc available in the route & near the temple.

Snow, snow, snow & snow.

First time in life saw snow peaked mountains. It was snow everywhere. It is the military base and the highest point in the area. Flowers are seen sometimes in summer. Nice place to visit and enjoy snow.
