Hotel Review of Alps Resort
The Destination : Dalhousie is pleasantly located amongst Chamba hills. One wonders how Lord Dalhousie came across such a beautiful place amongst hundreds of mountains.
The Location: Alps resort lays around 2 kms from the Mall area. It's ideally located far enough from the crowds, although not too far from the shopping streets. You get a good view of the famous Dalhousie Public School.
The Appearance: You climb up to the resort from the parking area and you are greeted by well maintained gardens, and a machaan. They tried to depict a colonial look to the exteriors, but they failed.
Bookings & front office : The reception staff is arrogant. It seems that these are the people who put a bad name to
The Service: Extremely bad service! The guys try their best to avoid work. This resort is saved by its manager. He is a nice person.
The Room : The room was strictly 'OK'. Not up to the standards that they try to maintain in their lawns. The bathroom didn't even have a mixer tap or a shower. Also, the room was not thoroughly cleaned.
Food & Drink : Food is a great part of this resort and is as refreshing as its gardens. We had some of the best food on our trip out here.
Activities: There is not much to do at this resort. They had a pool table and their leisure room was under renovation. Hopefully something can be expected in the future.
: There are great views from Dalhousie, but don't forget to visit Khajjiar that is just 20 kms from Alps Resort. It's a place worth a visit.
Leisure activities : You can climb up the machaan. No great views from out there, but that can be counted as an activity.
Mode of travel : Combination
Best time to visit : Summer
How many days to stay: 3_4days
Travel tips : Just sip a cup of tea or coffee in the lawns. The room is not a place to spend time.
Travel warnings : Be prepared for some loud music in the evenings. Even if you request to switch off or lower the volume, the front office staff is rude enough to ignore your requests. No one goes there to listen to loud music, but it's sad that the management thinks otherwise.

Hotel Review of Alps Resort
The overall experience in the resort was disgusting. We had heard quite a lot from some people regarding the resort, but it turned out to be sheer disaapointment. The "deluxe suite" we had booked was no more than a 10X10 tenament, with an equal size living room. When a guest arrives, and the bookings have been made previously, he expects a certain amount of courtesy and preparations on the behalf of the resort. The room had no lock....
