Himachal Pradesh food, sight-seeing and shopping options
For hotels, if you want to book in advance, my recommendation is do not book the himachal tourism corporation hotel. It is in ruins there. Any other private hotel will do well. The rates are competitive, so call a few before making the bookings. Do not forget negotiating on price. From Punj pulla there are a few hiking trails. If you are planning to go for hiking, make sure you are well equipped for it.
There are a few food joints where you easily can have good food - like there is one authentic Sher-e-Punjab dhaba. Nice food, ambience is good, service is ok. Avoid spending on the mineral water as the normal tap water the hotel will provide is good enough. Eat a lot and sleep a lot - that is what the idea of the vacation is.

Hotel Review of Shangri - La Hotel
Comments: Never suggested to stay in hotel Shangri - la at any cost. No Room service, Bad behaviour by staff, totally ignorance of customer.
Worst Experience: 1. Found a condom in bathroom at the time of Hotel check in.
2. Found a hair in dinner.
3. There is charges to pull the luggage of customer to vaiter.
4. Ready to wait at least 1 hours after order of dinner.
