We had been there with a family visiting Dandeli. We had a wonderful experience, warm hospitality, wonderful time spent amidst nature. The service, staff, food, rooms & amenities were very good & very comfortable. It's a place must visit for every one who is willing to spend some quality time with family & friends.
The staff at the hotel were good and friendly. The hotel was located conveniently and the room was kept clean and well-maintained. All the amenities at the room were in good condition. Hot water facility was there at the room and the activities were organised by the hotel. Only vegetarian food was served at the hotel and the quality of the food was good and it was at reasonable price. The check-in and check-out procedure was not delayed, it was done on time. It was a relaxation trip with my family.
Had been to this Home-stay with friends in May 1st week. Since there are very less cottages, even if on weekend you would not feel the rush. It had a beautiful Aesthetic. Homely Food pure food was served. Camp-fire, carom and badminton was there as activities. Better to take a own vehicle. Morning walk in a forest- A activity by Mr. Hegde will give you a different experience. Rooms were maintained cleanly. Service is also very good
This was a home stay, the overall experience was good, and it was conveniently located. The appearance of the hotel interior and exterior was very good, especially the interior was excellent. The rooms were spacious, neat and clean, well maintained. The room had all facilities available. The staff service was very good cooperative and friendly and was quick with the response. The quality of food was average, there were varieties, but the quality was not up to the mark. There were many indoor activities available. Well recommendable place for other tourist and travellers also.
My experience was good in this home stay. It was my relaxing holiday. I did book it on the spot on my arrival. This home stay was located in the city area. Food facility was available there. I had north Indian food in this property it was fine. Room was spacious and furnished and facilitated with basic daily use items. But AC and TV was not present in the room. Staff service was acceptable. Look wise this home stay was decent. They did not provide any activities.
Me and my wife visited Dandeli on Dec last week 2013, found it tough to get the bookings for home stay, but at last i got this home stay. We travelled by VRL bus from Bangalore, so upon reaching Dandeli we were picked up in a jeep and we were taken to the home stay around 10km from the bus stop, comfortable ride tough.. We met the home stay spoc Sudarshan Hedge. We were given a temporary room to freshen up as the people in our home stay were yet to check out and needed cleaning. We got the room around 11. The room was cleansed well, we had to freshen up but hot water had some problem for the first 2 days we stayed and later was repaired. The room had basic things like bed, chair, tables chairs etc..As this home stay is hardly 1 year old the room taps and all fittings were in very good condition with no issues. Then we went on to have lunch, we were happy with the malnad style of food, no discrepancies with our lunch/dinner/breakfast any day. The food served here is of pure vegetarian type, drinking and smoking is forbidden here. Next day our spoc took us for a nature walk around the homestay, it was a pleasant walk for about 3kms and we returned and we followed the usual itinerary. Our spoc had luckily [tough to get some during the peak season] got the rafting reservations, so we headed for the morning batch. We had booked a jeep for pickup and drop throughout the trip, never matter the ambiance; we enjoyed the drive always on our way. Rafting was really memorable; every youngster will enjoy this activity the most. Going ahead, we returned and rested for the evening, we were served pakoda’s and tea for the evening and a camp fire is setup at around 7.30PM. Among the 3 days of our stay, i preferred to stay a day in the homestay looking around and taking long walks around the homestay, It was pleasant to hear the birds chirping here and there, solace to mind. The next day our spoc had booked us for the boating, which is very private and is known to very few people there. So we spent one evening boating in the back waters of Kali River. We were on a ride for at least 1 hr seeing the birds and enjoying the scenic beauty. On the whole tough not very brief I would like to say it was an awesome experience .Here some tips for all who want to visit:- Food is purely non-spicy veg, no non-veg is allowed. So people having eager for non-veg can either sustain or go into the city 10kms for eating non-veg .I saw few people very unhappy with this. Please speak to the SPOC Sudarshan for all activity you want to enjoy with, He can arrange for almost everything. Most of the time it will be maximum of 2 activities in a day, each one half day. Try not to spoil the ambiance and calmness by growling over silly things, the staff is very hospitable there. I saw one family getting angry for ants and lizards in the room. I personally feel this was not an certain issue to complain. Folks we are in forest area ,which means we are in exploiting the nature and staying there. can't we bear with the small lizards and ants..!!So complain about things which really trouble you and are within the homestay rule limits. The house keeping people clean the room once a day, which is more than sufficient. There are no indoor activities put up yet, do plan to carry your own games. We had 2 more families with children, totally we felt more like home rather than some strangers staying together. The home-stay owners a family also relation of the SPOC were very hospitable with every one there and we had nice fun all together, they valued every customer there and are very faith full to their customers. For bird photography you might be lucky if you could spot some during boating and some around the home stay itself, I saw at least 10 different birds like great hornbill, robin, blue and orange kingfisher, river tern, egrets, eagles, woodpeckers etc..Carry a good telephoto lens and you would never regret, Do visit this homestay for a memorable trip to dandeli.
My family of four members [ My wife and two kids ] stayed in this resort for three days during dasara vacation. The resort is really very well built, peaceful and surrounded by nice forest and agricultural land. There is a 2 acre garden with medicinal plants. Main building is very beautiful from all directions and provides a grand view of sun rise and sunset from the central hall. Main building has common facilities for dining and entertainment. The area is so large that it takes few hundred meters walk to reach your cottage. There are 5 cottages built in hexagonal shape. Rooms are spacious, clean, well maintained and distance between cottages are enough to provide privacy and peace. It was fun in the full moon night as there is plenty of space for walking and relaxing outside the cottage. It is worth mentioning that the quality and taste of traditional vegetarian north and coastal Karnataka food was excellent. Service of the staff was very good and they made us feel homely. Overall it is very good value for money and safe place for family with kids and those who like traditional vegetarian food. Dandeli chalet is suitable for both general and adventure tourism as resort is situated in the unique location which is closer to both water sports and famous places as mentioned in the resort website. TIPS: Call up resort and inform them in advance about your preference of food and specific needs as it is difficult for them to attend such requirements with short notice as it is a remote place.
HolidayIQ reviewer Hridesh says, "Adventure sports like rafting, zip lining, zorbing are a must do here. The best part is this place is less commercial, which makes you to connect with nature." Read More
