Kanika veg restaurant near Fortune resort is best I found in town for veg food, priced equally good.
Glenary and Frank Ross cafe on Chaurastha are great for a quick snack and everything at Glenary's is wonderful.

Hotel Review of Cedar Inn
Comments: Despite being a Calcuttan Bengali, it was my first trip to darjeeling ever in January 2008. Having heard so much about the hillstation, its scenic beuaty and its old-world charm, it was a breathtaking sight to turn a corner on the road and get a clear view of the snow-capped Kanchenjungha! we continued driving towards the main city of Darj and our driver pointed out a hole in the hill and said thats Cedar Inn. From that distance and angle, it looked like any of the other hundred hotels in the vicinity.
Twenty more minutes and a rather steep uphill drive later,we were at the gates of Cedar Inn, on Jalapahar Road. It was one of the most beautiful hotels i have stepped into. Its wooden interiors and warm lobby completely charmed us.
The rooms had an unparelleled view of the snow capped range as well. Infact the rooms were at a split level, which made it only too comfortable to simply look up from your pillow in the morning at the glorious mountain view.
The service, the food, the people at Cedar Inn all made it an experience to cherish and by far, one of our best holidays ever.
Best Experience: Having gone to Darj in the first week of january, we were not really prepared to handle the chill. The thought of getting into the bed at night (albeit with its pristine white sheets and warm blankets) sent a shiver down our spines (pun intended!!). Till a Housekeeping guy came knocking at our door at around 8pm with his hands full of hot water bags. the bags were nestled inside our blankets from around then till the time we went to bed. The result was a heavenly feeling of warmth just as we took off our layers and socks while getting into bed. That, by far, was the moment of Customer WOW for me!

Hotel Review of Cedar Inn
It was pretty good, we enjoyed the stay there. The view from the hotel room was just too good, you could see Kanchanjanga range right from your window. I also liked their prompt service, you call them and they are at your door. Food was pretty good too, they had limited variety of veg. breakfast but we still enjoyed Puri Bhaji and Aaloo Parathas.. There were minor issues like, fixing up small small things in the room and all but I...
