Classical experience; great stay

5.5/7

Rann of Kutch has always been my favorite destination. The location of the property is very good as the name suggests it is really like staying at our ancestral home. Room was big and clean, furniture was old and classical. Inexplicable hospitality was the key point and food was excellent. My family totally had nice time staying here. Highly recommended.

We had a warm and charming stay in this property. It is a well architectures property. First impression is just "WOW" and this wow lasted till the check-out from the rooms to the room service, from the staff to the food, from the view from the rooms to the activities everything was so WOW. Tastefully done furniture was adding more charm. Overall its nice stay in such lowly budget. Totally loved the experience. Highly recommended hotel.

great place with an amazing host

Situated an hour's drive from Bhuj, this home stay is excellent for travellers who want the real thing. Devpur home stay has five rooms the rooms were big and furnished with antique furniture, the Haveli was over a hundred years old, but well maintained. They had a bad hit by the earthquake of 2011. Best time to visit is the cooler months, November to February. The temperature at nights dips to below two degrees Celsius, but our hosts Mr. Creasing and his wife Yashodara ensured that our room was heated to comfort levels, bed tea and breakfast and excellent dinner, Kutchi style was provided. They also run a school up to ICSE levels for the locals. Volunteers are welcome. The cardamom flavoured tea was worth a mention. We must have had dozens of them which was hot and piping. Our host knows Kutch well, being local and was able to guide on local Tours. All in all, a very good experience.

an invitation to the family prayer was excellent & We all felt like at home & as if we were a family member of JADEJA family who all were there for a vacation. Kutchh-i food was excellent.A school they are running in the same compound which gives an immense idea how they are dedicated to the society.School break-in time was really enjoyable to see children s various movements.Good luck to JADEJA FAMILY.

Too far from Bhuj. The traditional welcome was heart warming. The room we had was quite large with beds, wardrobe and writing desks. We needed the AC only for a couple of hours at the most as nights were turning cool in early October. The TV was old fashioned and the cable service very limited. DTH would have been wonderful. Early morning you could make your own tea with electric kettle, tea-bags etc. provided. I would have preferred a larger mug for my morning tea but it was no great deal. The family runs the White Eagle school here and it was nice to see children smartly attired in check shirts and blue jeans attending classes. There is a hostel also and at night I could see the hostess herself serving foods to children as she did to us during our breakfast. Unfortunately we didn't have lunch or dinner here as we had outside during our tour but the breakfast was nice and varied on both days. The host was most gracious and was quite surprised to listen to the Mother who must be 80+ to speak in fluent English. Must also mention the bathroom which remains my top priority in any hotel or homestay. It was spacious, modern with geyser and had spotlessly clean towels. Was a pleasure spending 2 days here.

Nice food and ambiance

i would say the strength of this place is the experience. you may not feel out of place or being at hotel/resort. its staying at home with your people. the place is calm, quiet and actually has the wand to unwind all the hassles of life; you just get rejuvenated so that you can bounce back after a vacation. I love this place. it also helped us cover the entire kachchh as this is the centre point.

Good food and hospitality

we have experienced homestay before and this was the best of the lot. the hospitality and simplicity of the host family was outstanding. we never felt that we had met them for the first time. in addition, the host gave us so much information and knowledge about kachchh and its history, not all of which will be in books. i strongly recommend people to stay here, without which a visit to kachchh would be incomplete.
