We recently stayed here. Check in procedure was horrible. When we reached front office people were busy looking TV. They refused to get up from the seat and asked me to go the manager's office for fetching the booking confirmation print out to complete the formalities for check in. Stay was ok.

Me and my friends went to Digha in the summer time this year and we want to stay in a lodge. And we found this, the lodge is near to new Digha beach just 2 minute in walk. It was pleasure to stay there. The rooms, front office is just good but the rent was high but exept those things the lodge was awesome for stay.

I made a hurricane trip to Digha last year and booked Digha Tourist Lodge of West Bengal Tourism. Firstly, I was deeply moved by its warm hospitality. This tourist lodge offers proper security and safety. You may find hundred hotels to dwell in but where it comes to comfort I suggest this Tourist Lodge is the best option and quite pocket friendly.....Read More

After a splendid stay at the Tourist Lodge in Darjeeling a few years back I eagerly looked forward to a great stay during a short weekend trip to Digha and I must say that I was completely satisfied. A two nights stay at this property is a reaffirmation of the fact that with a bit of effort, West Bengal Tourist lodges are capable of giving a run for money to the more renowned private hotels. Location : A 5 min drive by car and 15 min ride by van brings one to this property located in Old Digha. The beach is approximately 200 metres from the property. It is nested in a calm neighbourhood yet very close to the main market. Some rooms offer a view of the Bay of Bengal from the balconies. Rooms : The rooms are very spacious and have a balcony which is a big plus for drying clothes after a dip in the sea. The furniture is basic but adequate. The rooms are equipped with LCD TVs and the split air conditioners in the AC rooms work perfectly. The wash rooms are clean, equipped with geysers and also have an adjoining changing room. The bed linen & towels are clean. In a nutshell one can't complain. Restaurant : With a capacity to accommodate 30-40 guests the restaurant is clean and has an adjoining open air seating arrangement. The food was a let down to some extent. We had tried Bengali cuisine but though tasty it was too spicy for the kids in our group and even for us. The cooks despite requests failed to scale down the spiciness. Breakfast is complementary but with only two options : Indian B/F- Four puris and subzee English B/F- Two slices of bread and one egg (omelette / fried). One needs to pay for any extra add ons. We had a one year old child with us and the restaurant staff were very co-operative by allowing us to use the kitchen for boiling water and preparing meals for the baby on our own. We are greatly indebted to them for this generosity. Bar : The bar was a mixed bag of surprises. It was pleasantly stocked with hard liquor and beer (no wine though). Sadly there was no arrangement for ice! Activities: The patio adjoining the restaurant can be a good hangout and a swing near it is the only option available for kids. Checkout is at 11.00 hr and one needs to have a chat with the staff for late checkouts. Staff was friendly and co-operative. Credit card facility is available subject to link availability. Tips : Don't buy mineral water from the shops across the road. Booking : Book online through the West Bengal Tourism travel portal. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend it. Those who have doubts of this property simply because it is Govt run can rest assured that a visit to this place would change perceptions. Room Tip: Opt for a room on the 1st or 2nd floor.
I, along with my wife stayed at DTL from 17th dec-20th dec. We booked the a/c super deluxe luxury db room from WBTDC office at BBD BAG. The room, number 320 was excellent and was very spacious with a big balcony. the bathroom was good and there was a attached changing room with big wardrobe and equally big shoe-rack. The service was good and prompt. We ordered food twice from DTL kitchen and the food was really very good. One should try the chicken biriyani. given the excellent quality of the food, the food was not over-priced, rather it was highly priced. The DTL boasts a bar but if anyone wants the drinks to be served at the room, they will serve only based on pegs rather than a bottle. So, if anyone wishes to drink sumptuously and cheaply, it is advisable to buy drinks from the F/L shop. The location is good even though it is not very near to the sea (a two-minute walk), it is situated away from the hustle-bustle of the old digha so a quite neighborhood beckoned us. A man who is attached to DTL from very long time, named Sushanta, is very helpful and can arrange trips for vacationers for TALSARI and UDAYPUR. The charges for those trips are at par with the charges we surveyed with private operators of hired cars. We, stayed at a Rs. 1500 room and we were given complimentary breakfast. We chose puri and sabji, that tasted good and were sumptuously offered a good dose of coffee in breakfast. I will recommend this DTL to everyone who visits Digha.
I went Puri witth My Mrs. for 1 day weekend trip. I stay at Digha Tourist Lodge (Run By WBTDC). The Room is big, very clean, furnished and spacious. It is walking distance from sea beach but not on sea beach.
The hotel was located near the city and I did not face any difficulty in reaching the place. The hotel is well decorated by furniture. This hotel room are very clean and spacious with well-furnished. The food of the hotel is very delicious and all type Indian food are available in here. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and cooperative, helpful. Service of this hotel is very quick and outstanding. From my experience, this hotel is economical and comfortable stay with quick service and helpful staff.
overall experience was good......its only 2 mins walking distance from old digha beach.....well maintained.......room service is very good.i reached there without prior booking.it was a weekend.....and there was no room available in standard hotels.....so this hotel was my last resort........the front desk staff welcomed me with a smile and gave me the much desired key without charging any extra money.moreover, within 30 mins, they served me pakora and tea.......

Most of the decisions we make of a day to day basis are one or the other form of compromise, we compromise on career and relationship fronts. One of the greatest aspects of traveling alone is that you aren’t obligated to compromise on anything. Yo
