| DoDrul Chorten Stupa |
|

|
Regarded
as the most important 'stupa' of Sikkim, the Do-Drul Chorten stupa
was built in 1945 by Trulshi Rimpoche, head of the Nyingma order of Tibetan
Buddhism.
This stupa is characterised
by complete mandala sets of Dorjee Phurba (Bajra Kilaya), a set of Kan-gyur
relics (Holy Books), complete 'Zung'(mantras) and other religious objects. With
a gold-topped shikara adorning its spire, the stupa also has 108 Mani-Lhakor or
Prayer Wheels.
Around the Stupa are two
gigantic statues of Guru Rinpoche (Guru Padmasambhava). The Stupa attracts
pilgrims and visitors from all over the country.

can any one guide me for:
1.what are the traosport facility from BAgdogra airport to Gangtok?
2. best local area to stay (range 500-1200/-)from the facility(transport/food) assebility point opf view.
3. best way for site seeing.( hiring a cab or sharing taxi??)
