Drass, the second coldest inhabited place in the world, is located at a height of 3,230 m. Situated at a distance of approximately 60 km to the west of Kargil, the destination is a small township located in the heart of valley, which is denoted by the same name. Zojila pass, which is known as the Himalayan Gateway to Ladakh, serves as the commencing point of the valley of Drass.

The three-day long trek to Suru valley across the sub-range is one of the most famous trekking routes commencing from Drass. While passing through the Umbala pass, which is located at a height of 4,500 m, tourists can also enjoy the beautiful view of meadows.
