Good days

Posted 16 Oct, 2017

I had stayed in Dubare in the month of November 2016 during holiday trip with family. The destination of the place was good and the location of the hotel was good that was just beside the Kaveri. The appearance was good and the front office was very good they behaved well. I booked my stay through online. The overall services in the hotel were good. The room was excellent that was very clean and neat. The food facility in the hotel was good. But there were fun activities that were very good. They have to provide the travel shoot. I was comfortable during my stay and I will recommend this hotel to other upcoming travelers too.

We traveled to Dubare in the month of November 2016. It was a holiday trip with my family. We booked this hotel through online process. The destination was an amazing place. We like the elephant activities in the destination. The hotel appearance was good in interior and exterior look. The hotel was located far from the city. The provided room was well organized. All the basic facilities in the room were in working condition. We had food from the hotel it was tasty and delicious. Some elephant activities it was nice. Excellent Elephant Camp, small adventurme to reach

Posted 27 May, 2017

Excellent activity around 1hr from Madikeri for children in particular. The elephant camp is accessible across a small stream which had partially dried up due to summer so the old noisy motor boat can't take you across rather you walk across rock, ankle to knee deep slow, running water took around 30 minutes to walk across with a lot of people trying to get there. It starts at around 9:00am and lasts up to 11:00am or so and has a small restaurant outside and few stores. We reached at 10:30am with some difficulty after breakfast with winding mountain roads to get there. So missed the elephant feeding but enjoyed elephant bathing with 5-6 elephants reaching the knee deep water outside the entrance of the camp with 20-30 people jostling for space trying to bathe the elephants lazily lying in the water. The mahuts allow you to touch the elephants, take pictures with them and even get the elephants to shower water from their trunks over the people for a small fee of INR 100. The entrance fee was very low at around 10 rupees per person. It's a really must do activity with the kids, our son really enjoyed the elephant bathing and the stream crossing. The best animals related activity on Coorg in my view. Just get there early as it gets crowded and isn't well organised so then it's up to you to really make the most of it. In the evening it's possible to feed the elephants again between 4:30pm and 6:30pm too but haven't tried this.

Interacting with nature and great stay in cottage

Posted 21 Mar, 2016

It gives me great pleasure to recall our recent visit to Dubare, an unforgettable trip, the sweet memories of which will remain ever-green in our hearts. This long awaited tour was planned, mainly for exposure of our son to the beauties of nature and wonders of wildlife apparent in this rare forest area. I am pleased to say that the prime purpose of our tour has been fulfilled to a large extent, even though we missed to watch some of the wild animals, freely moving in their kingdom-like natural abode. The pure and fresh air, peaceful and serene atmosphere, present here rejuvenated us both mentally and bodily. We witnessed the utmost beauty and glory of the nature for the first time in our life, here. We, especially our son, enjoyed immensely the elephant ride and interaction with them openly by feeding, bathing and touching their huge body. Our party consists of myself, my wife, and my son reached Dubare via Kushalnagar from Mysore by road. The rousing reception accorded to our family on arrival at the cottage really wondered us. It is an exaggeration to say that we were treated as very important persons by the watch and ward members of the cottage. The staff members are very polite, courteous and service oriented. With a view to highlight the dutifulness and commitment of the staff members, I feel it is necessary, as also my responsibility to mention about the incident, happened during our sojourn. Our son suddenly suffered from dehydration and he needed ORS treatment. Knowing this, the staff members brought ORS packets all the way from Mysore at 10:00pm. This humanitarian action and concern for their customers exhibited by the staff are marvelous. We salute them for coming to our rescue at a critical time. The cottage is spacious, neat and well maintained. There is no dearth of amenities. Visitors can enjoy the beauties of nature by sitting in it also. We wish to visit the place once again if possible. In the end my humble advice to the prospective visitors to Dubare is - to follow the instructions of the cottage authorities, strictly and cooperate with the staff members, in maintenance of purity and serenity of the nature without causing any disturbance.

Amazing location & had a great stay

Posted 24 Jul, 2015

We came to the Camp by 9:30 am and had the capacity bathe the elephants in the stream for quite a while and simply play with them and cooperate with them. We could later likewise bolster the elephants and had the capacity see exceptionally youthful calves with their mothers. Dubare is an elephant catching and preparing camp of the Forest Department of Coorg. Situated in the middle of Kushalnagar and Siddapur on the banks of waterway Kaveri. When you achieve the parking spot for the camp - you have to call them so they can send a water craft to go up against you the opposite side of the stream. You have to leave your auto and cross the waterway to achieve the JLR Resort. This is the best place to stay and appreciate the nature. They have houses all around the property. We booked the waterway view cabins at these are on the stream bank and has best perspective of the waterway and in addition the nature, in the event that you book houses 10 or 11. These are the keep going two bungalows on the waterway bank at right beside the wilderness. The bundle included stay, Lunch, Snacks, Dinner, Breakfast, Jungle Safari, Nature walk, Coracle (round vessel) ride, Elephant washing/connection and Elephant Ride. General a stuffed calendar from 2 PM till 11 AM next day. Here wild elephants are tamed and prepared by utilizing tamed elephants and with the aptitude of neighbourhood tribes. Other than elephants, we can likewise detect the Deers, Bisons, Peacocks, woodpeckers, kingfishers and so on in this woodland.

Peaceful stay amidst forest, river and elephants

Posted 16 Nov, 2015

You must not miss this if you like elephants. A true paradise for spending some quality time far off from the busy polluted townships. Amidst dense forest and beautiful Kaveri river, you feel so close to nature. The rooms are comfortable and well-maintained, warded off from any pests. Homely food. Great hospitality. The itinerary keeps you engaged throughout your trip. Interaction with the elephants are the best part, of course. Coracle is also entertaining. They also have some tyre/net swings that kids (and adults) can take advantage of. My 3-year old son loves elephants, and visiting this place made his dream come true. Room Tip: They have river-view rooms for which they charge extra. River-views are nicer.

Dubarae Elephant camp experience was awesome, I have taken couple of foreigners to this camp. Initially bit skeptical about the ambience & privacy for them but when we reached the gesture was very good. Early morning safari ride Was good, fortunate enough to see beautiful peacock, special squirrel, deers and few other birds. Ofcourse riding into the jungle was awesome. After breakfast, interactions with elephants - Bathing, scrubbing .. Fortunate enough to see puppy elephants doing naughty stuff. Later we went for elephant ride and forutnate enought to feed elephants. Last but not the least, the guide explained some great facts about elephant - did comparison between asian & african elephants. We were also allowed for boating, where we got to see jelly fish in rudimentary form. Was bit scared tho' :) Thoroughly we enjoyed all the activities. Wish I can come again with my family here. Cheers, Karthik

Very good experience overall

Posted 18 Mar, 2016

We checked in in the afternoon on a Sunday. All in all a very good experience. Food was nice. Rooms are clean. Staff is courteous. Safari was nice - though we were attacked by an angry elephant during the ride, luckily nothing happened! The video about conservation of tiger which they showed just before the Camp fire in the evening was amazing. Camp fire itself was worth it, having the sumptuous snacks of the grill by the fire side and talking to the staff and knowing their experiences with jungle and the life around the jungle they live! Sadly we could not go in for the elephant interaction the next day morning as we had an emergency that required us to leave the place early in the morning.
