Hotel had many facilities

7.0/7
Posted 1 Aug, 2015

We didn’t face any problem to find the hotel. The staff’s were excellent. The room was neat and clean. The stay was comfortable. We had mountain view from the room. The food was very good both veg and non veg. The hotel was 17 kilometres away from market. The hotel had many facilities. Surrounding of the hotel was pleasant. Activities were not there in the hotel. The hotel organizes sightseeing and arranged vehicle for sightseeing trip. The hotel was value for money. I would recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Beautiful romantic getaway in the midst of nature

6.7/7
Posted 19 May, 2015

At the very beginning, I want readers who are looking for a luxury, 5 star Resort should immediately look away from this review because the cottage can simply be described in 2 points, Home Stay & A Eco Village Tourism Have been looking for a place & property which doesn't fall into the usual 'touristy' tag. Where you are not over bothered by other obnoxious guests. Where other guests share the same kind of interest, perhaps My one of the very good friend suggested this place. Had a chat with Meghann, the estate manager and paid advance for 1 night in way back in March 2015. Something or the other turned up and we couldn't visit till I decided that it was just enough. So, on 15th May, we started in the morning from Delhi and in no time reached the place. As soon as we reached the path leading to the Saur village I was just exhilarated just by the scene in front of me. Nestled between the mountains, was the Saur Village. The mountains were surprisingly green around this time of the year. We could see fields of golden and green wheat crop swaying around gently. The breeze was just enough to make you feel very comfortable though it was quite sunny. A trail leads from the road towards the property and I was more happy when I saw it. A perfectly restored village house. We were offered the main cottage which had 2 bedrooms, 1 dining. Even the wash-room was very interesting as the rooms were on the raised platform the wash-room was in the ground floor. Here, most of the big houses are built like this. People make their rooms on the raised platform and beneath it is used as storage. The cottages have the typical village setting. The roof was made up of chiselled stones and walls are made to look like of mud. Wood is used plentifully for support. There is another unit which is smaller than that which consists of 2 separate unit each having 2 bedrooms. The view from the cottage is just pure joy if you love nature. Everything in the surrounding made me feel like I belonged here and only here. Absolutely no sound of any traffic whatsoever. The only sound, which is pleasant to the ears are that of birds, goats, buffaloes and occasional sound made by the villagers (even that is soothing). The hosts are excellent. Meghann is a wonderful lady with whom we became friends. Dinesh, Abhishek and Sanjay are the staff who are highly courteous. Sajay is the cook and he can very well cook. He also does food carvings too! And you know what? The corianders, potatoes, green peas, mint leaves, cucumber are all sourced locally. The property even has it's own kitchen garden! You would never find such fresh and untreated (no fertilizer, no pesticide) vegetables in city. Our stay was short but it was memorable Those who wants excitement, night party, should definitely stay away from such places as it's absolutely a laid back, nature loving environment. There is nothing to do except appreciate the beauty of the nature, do few treks. Oh yes! It's a paradise for photographers

Pleasant place - Stay away from hustle bustle in serene surroundings

6.5/7
Posted 21 Oct, 2013

Saur Cottage where family suite is self sufficient in itself with a separate room for kids and dining hall. Service staff is prompt. It is surrounded by greenery and it has ample space in front of cottage to relax. It is on 10 km inside on Natal and Chamba route. For outdoor enthusiasts, other activities will also be arranged which are not part of stay. Our stay was pleasant with family and my kids enjoyed it. We did not opt for any outdoor activities.

A place where you can find yourself !

6.5/7
Posted 2 Oct, 2013

If you are like us who wanted to spend some quality time with family, away from all the day-to-day running around, I would strongly recommend Saur Cottage at Natal . . This year we wanted to visit a place which is quiet, beautiful, and peaceful. And we found this wonderful place called Saur Cottage in Natal. This place was beyond what we had imagined it would be. We found no TV, facebook, emails, phones, or any of such distractions, as there is no connection from any of the networks (except for. If you truly want to find yourself, this is the place to visit Every day we woke-up with the birds chirping. The staff was ready to serve us hot Tea early in the morning. A delicious, healthy, and out of pan breakfast was served by 8:30. Every meal was freshly made with most of the local ingredients. We had the day for ourselves to meditate, take a walk into the nature, or quietly read a book. A guide was there with us all the time to visit the villages around. The weather was lovely so we walked every day for hours together, picking-up the local fruit and berries on the way This place is photographers / artists paradise.

Very good quiet, reflective holiday

5.1/7
Posted 31 Aug, 2013

Saur Cottages is a good concept and still at a developing stage. Some areas still need intoning. But it provides a very good option for a quiet, reflective holiday - when you essentially want to be with yourself and your very close ones, and away from the madding crowd. At the same time, you are also able to see (and also be part of) a kind of life, that otherwise in one's hectic, urban daily life, one can only nostalgically miss or yearn for - a slow, quiet life, where one is closer to the elements and the nature And you do all this in the comfortable belief that your material needs of staying away from home are well taken care of In a sense, you return from Saur Cottages with a recouped energy and sense of go-ahead

Have a date with nature here

6.0/7
Posted 26 Jun, 2013

Songs of nature, sound of silence is in abundance here... the rooms are spacious and are well designed to give you comfort and pleasure. Food is simple and hence great. The staff is young, educated, energetic and friendly - we never felt we are away from home. The view from the rooms are excellent. The place is advisable for those who want to get away from the noise of the city, to relax with the family, do some little trekking. It takes you away from your world to a new experience which can only be internalised - it offers you so many things that capturing it with lens is just not possible. I would definitely go again.

This is 1930s building

5.4/7
Posted 8 Jun, 2013

DueNorth Saur Cottage is probably 1930s building, now resorted to give a modern day comfort, yet generates a feeling of you staying in a century old building. Located in a typical Himalayan Garhwali village, surrounded by scenic views of himalayan landscapes this is ideal getaway for those who looks for offbeat , nothing much to do weekend++ breaks.
