We didn't stay at the Durga Hotel but we went to eat at the restaurant in the evening one day. First of all , there were several waiters who didn't even come to give us the menu. After calling one several times, he came and said only three things were available. Horrible service and totally not worth it. The appearance is also really bad. Go to the nearby Preethi Palace veg restaurant which has really nice staff, good food at affordable prices.

very good hotel for everyone. good food service and reasonable charge room service is very good. may be need more space for car park easy access for all places. they provide basic amenities with room rent. they clean room daily. they arrange daily trip around OOty.
Went to this hotel based on my friends recommendation. It is centrally located on Ettines Road. It wasn't a leisure trip so I would just be using the room for only the night. Day time would be sight seeing. It was in my budget, about 1800. Looks to b a bit old building. Not very posh. Toilets are quite clean but old style. Rooms are clean. You get good view of city. Has their own parking space. Rooms are not posh but u can't complain. The manager/owner was a very nice person. The restaurant attached serves very good food. They have buffet breakfast too. Always crowded that means they serve good food. Recommend if you are not on a leisure trip and if you are not gonna spend much time in room. A bit old fashioned rooms and toilets.
Given its location and view, this hotel is good value for money. I've visited Ooty in, "off-season". The key to enjoying Ooty (like most other places) is to visit when tourists are least in number; you strike the best deal, and don't meet crowds, and the opportunistic roaming traders. I stayed with my Husband and I was pretty impressed, hotel was good and worth for the price they offer, this hotel is a simple hotel where you would get decent food and OK rooms. The view is really nice, the daily trips arranged in group from hotel travel desk is very cheap and quite good for an overall trip of OOTY and surrounding areas like COONOR. This is not a star rated hotel. If you are very particular about facilities, amenities, this is not the hotel for you. But, if you are willing to ignore minor things and don't want to spend too much, then this is probably a good choice. Do not expect classy, professional treatment, typical of big, The location of the hotel is great. It is approx 2-2.5 KM from the main market with good accessibility The hotel staffs are polite and always very smiling, They can improve their kitchen to provide more options for guests, Stay here if you want to cover lot of tourist spots in Ooty because it is very close to most happening place in Ooty, Overall it was a very pleasant experience and stay in Hotel Durga Palace and would definitely recommend it to all other fellow travelers.
