Durshet Forest Lodge Reviews
I was looking for a jungle stay near Pune and I had heard about this Lodge from a friend. It is very convenient for people staying near Pune and Mumbai. We went here as a couple to relax. The package included few adventure activities. We did not participate in many of them. We were more interested in kayaking. But it was closed due to rainfall. We....Read More
The hotel is located at a good place, but due to inclement weather conditions outdoor activities are uncomfortable. The highest end cocoon room costing 7000+ is very basic with stained towels et la, no TV and a tottering window AC. There is no room service or facilities of any kind. Food is buffet ... More like home cooked ones; not sure people pre....Read More
I loved the stay at this hotel. We went from Pune over a weekend. Their rooms are good and reasonable and include food charges. Small cottages with all basic facilities. There are many activities like rock climbing, kayaking, forest trails, flying fox which you can do here. People come here in morning and go in evening but I would suggest stay here....Read More

Everything was natural there. There was no problem with staff....Read More

Overall experience at the hotel was different and no problem to find. Staffs were very friendly in the hotel. The inside and outside appearance of the hotel was clean and nice. We were a group of 3 people who visited this place on a monsoon weekend in the month of August 2013. The place is quite close from Mumbai (around 1.5 hours drive from Navi Mumbai) on the main Pali-Khopoli Road. We reached the place around 9:30 AM and after parking our vehicle, completed the formalities. We were told by the staff that the breakfast was being served and immediately went there. It had poha, idli/wada sambar, tea/coffee, etc. Though the canteen was a bit crowded, specially because of some school/college trip, the food was quite good. We enjoyed the breakfast while being in the middle of forest surroundings. After taking a short rest, we went for the activities. We did the zipline first which was fairly good. Then did the mountain rapelling along the side of waterfalls. Though it was not a big climb down, it was quite fun for us, since we were doing it for the first time. The equipments provided seemed to be of decent quality as well. We then enjoyed our time at the waterfall and it was quite fun.. It was time for lunch and we moved back to the hotel. Standing in the queue for lunch, the place seemed quite chaotic and noisy, since it had lots of student crowd who were making a lot of noise and jumping queues. Again the lunch had lots of variety (dal/roti/sabzi/rice/papad,etc) with separate counter for Jain food as well and we were really impressed by the food taste. We then went for some kayaking at the Amba river behind the resort and had fun there as well, though had to check this activity with the staff depending on the rains. After some rest, we spent some time in the swimming pool, which surprisingly was not crowded at all (may be the students might not had been allowed to enter the pool by their teachers). The pool was decently clean as well. All in all, we were quite satisfied with the overall stay here and it is a good value for money place (would specially recommend for the food) However, the activities here are not of extreme nature, so it is more suited to a family kind of outing...
I had taken along a group of around 75-80 from my project team to Durshet Forest Lodge. Thsi was the first time we were visiting Naturetrails resort (We later even visited Sajan Nature Resort). Right from the intial welcome to the final farwell ..everything was just perfectly arranged and executed. Chinmay(owner) and his team of adventure freaks were extremely cordial and ensure that our stay had a lot of adventure & fun bundled together. His team arranged - rappelling, valley crossing, and some other activities during the 2 days were stayed at the resort. The best part was the flag hunt organized within the midst of the jungle and under just the moonlight. We played this treasure hunt game at night and through a virtual track that was very well planned and developed by this team. The second day was quite relaxing and the entire group had a nice time in the pool and playing some more games & some event had a repeat of rappeling. Food was quite good - both veg and non-veg.
We needed a break from the hustle butle of the city. Being the start of the summer season we also needed a cool place. So we zeroed in on Durshet. Durshet is situated on a small hill top surrounded by trees, with a river running at the back of the hill. Getting there from Pune: From the old Pune-Mumbai Highway, go straight upto Khopoli. Take a left at Khopoli Shil Phata and drive upto Pali Phata. Again take a left at Pali Phata and drive straight. You will see a Durshet Lodge sign on your left after driving for about 12 kms from Pali Phata. From the Pune-Mumbai expressway, go straight upto Khopoli exit. Take the Khopoli exit and drive upto Khopoli Shil Phata. Take a left at Khopoli Shil Phata and drive upto Pali Phata. Again take a left at Pali Phata and drive straight. You will see a Durshet Lodge sign on your left after driving for about 12 kms from Pali Phata. Accomodation: The lodge has some independent cottages (2000 Rs - 2500 Rs approx) , tents (1600-2000 Rs. approx). and some dormataries. The rooms are clean, well maintained with basic amneties. Hot water is available only in the mornings. Food: Room service is not available. Only tea is provided at your room in the morning. For the rest of the meals you have to go to the dining hall. The food is decent, not very oliy and served in buffet style. The menu for the day is mostly fixed. Activities: For recreation there is a swimming pool, TT table, carrom baord, wall climbing, small volley ball court. If you are a nature lover you can just stroll down along the river side or go bird watching in the mornings. Best time to visit: The ideal time to visit this place would be immediately after the rains when the forest cover is thick and the river is gushing. The river dries up during summer but the place still remains cool due to the surrounding trees. Note. This is not the ideal place for those who cannot do without a cell phone and TV .
I loved the stay at this hotel. We went from Pune over a weekend. Their rooms are good and reasonable and include food charges. Small cottages with all basic facilities. There are many activities like rock climbing, kayaking, forest trails, flying fox which you can do here. People come here in morning and go in evening but I would suggest stay here and enjoy the monsoon and greenery. They have tried to keep the place quite clean though they can keep it better still. Food is awesome, swimming pool is also good. Best in monsoons only of course. I would suggest contact them directly for booking instead of through agents who charge very high.
The overall experience was good as it was our first time there. The room was excellent in terms of cleanliness and has everything for a comfortable stay. The food was very well prepared and lots of variety to choose from. The staff was very helpful and served us with a smile. The only disappointment was that there were only 3 activites and those were also very short. We finished all our activities within 3 hours and then we had the complete afternoon till evening with nothing to do.
