Hotel Review of Durshet Forest Lodge
Comments: We needed a break from the hustle butle of the city. Being the start of the summer season we also needed a cool place. So we zeroed in on Durshet.

Durshet is situated on a small hill top surrounded by trees, with a river running at the back of the hill.

Getting there from Pune:
From the old Pune-Mumbai Highway, go straight upto Khopoli. Take a left at Khopoli Shil Phata and drive upto Pali Phata. Again take a left at Pali Phata and drive straight. You will see a Durshet Lodge sign on your left after driving for about 12 kms from Pali Phata.

From the Pune-Mumbai expressway, go straight upto Khopoli exit. Take the Khopoli exit and drive upto Khopoli Shil Phata. Take a left at Khopoli Shil Phata and drive upto Pali Phata. Again take a left at Pali Phata and drive straight. You will see a Durshet Lodge sign on your left after driving for about 12 kms from Pali Phata.

Accomodation: The lodge has some independent cottages (2000 Rs - 2500 Rs approx) , tents (1600-2000 Rs. approx). and some dormataries.
The rooms are clean, well maintained with basic amneties. Hot water is available only in the mornings.

Food: Room service is not available. Only tea is provided at your room in the morning. For the rest of the meals you have to go to the dining hall. The food is decent, not very oliy and served in buffet style. The menu for the day is mostly fixed.

Activities: For recreation there is a swimming pool, TT table, carrom baord, wall climbing, small volley ball court. If you are a nature lover you can just stroll down along the river side or go bird watching in the mornings.

Best time to visit: The ideal time to visit this place would be immediately after the rains when the forest cover is thick and the river is gushing.
The river dries up during summer but the place still remains cool due to the surrounding trees.

Note. This is not the ideal place for those who cannot do without a cell phone and TV .
Best Experience: The location of the lodge is ideal for all nature lovers. It is a nice, quite place surrounded by trees. The rooms are clean and well maintained.
Every cottage has a hammok to laze around and chill out.
Worst Experience: The lodge has a small hall which is generally let out for day picknickers. When we had been there, a bunch of people were playing loud music disturbing the peace of the otherwise quiet place. However, the staff was prompt to stop the music after we complained about it.

Hotel Review of Durshet Forest Lodge
I had taken along a group of around 75-80 from my project team to Durshet Forest Lodge. Thsi was the first time we were visiting Naturetrails resort (We later even visited Sajan Nature Resort). Right from the intial welcome to the final farwell ..everything was just perfectly arranged and executed. Chinmay(owner) and his team of adventure freaks were extremely cordial and ensure that our stay had a lot of adventure & fun bundled together. His team arranged - rappelling, valley crossing, and...
