About Echo Point

57%
voted as clean

Echo Point is situated about 13 km away from Munnar town, towards the Top Station or Top Slip. Echo Point is a phenomenon found in most of the hill stations. Munnar also has an Echo Point at a scenic lake bank. At Echo Point, people can clearly hear their loud voice echoing within the reservoir.

Echo Point is also a picnic spot where tourists as well as natives love to stroll along the misty green slopes of the lake. Nature walks at Echo Point is a popular activity. Also, tourists can go for trekking through the nearby coffee, tea and spice plantations and grasslands. Cool breeze along with calm serene surroundings make Echo Point a favourite place among wayfarers.

"Nothing special just an ordinary place" new review

  • 2.0/7
  • Posted 6 days ago
It's just an ordinary place with lot of shops and nothing more. The only thing you can do is boating. Having no parking facilities, it might seem to be a busy place but not a place to spend a lot of time. Boating cost is 250 Rs but it can be found everywhere in Munnar at less cost.

"The name says it" new review

I recommend going to this place when you visit Munnar especially if you are going with a bunch of people. I recommend going to this place as this place will look gorgeous in the early mornings. The echo experience is awesome and there are lot of shops for shopping.

There is boating facility available in this area as well. There are lot of restaurants also and you can really enjoy this place for 2 to 3 hours.

This place is on the way to Top Station and I recommend spending some time here on the way.

"It Echoes too" new review

  • 7.0/7

Echo Point means your voice will echo. You will hear yourself. But that's not the reason one should visit this place. The beautiful place - the juncture of river and mountains, both Rocky and Green, make it the place for admirers of nature.

"Neither echoing or reverberating place even in memory" new review

  • 3.5/7
  • Posted 3 weeks ago
The place is soo small and dirty. The echo is also not at all effective. It's a mere waste of time to visit. Located the way to Mattupetty Dam. Just if you have time and to say I visited that place you can go, otherwise not a wise option to visit. You can spend the time at other places.

Here you will see many shops [where you can bargain and get many decorative things or fashion accessories]. Homemade chocolates are very famous. These chocolates are very yum and tasty, must buy. You can do boating too.

We have been to Munnar for 3 days and this point totally rocks, completely surrounded by natural lush greenery. The scenery is awesome, alongside lake and this is the best point at Munnar and highly recommended.

"Nice view, no echo though"

Echo Point is a decent place to visit on your way to Top Point. It has an excellent view of mountains. Boating facility is available. There are many shops right next to the view point where you can buy wooden items, tea, dry fruits, banana chips, chocolates. There are eatable joints also serving food.

"Nothing much to do here"

Nothing much to do here, waste of time. Instead cover some other important places in that time. If you have plenty of time, then have a check in at this place.

"Shout as hard as you can"

  • 2.0/7
  • Posted 2 months ago
The echo depends on your voice's pitch, throw it hard and it comes back. Paddle Boating is available at this place, shout and paddle. Very picturesque view and a good place to sit and enjoy the beauty of green trees around the lake. The lake which is formed due to Mattupetty Dam, cannot spend more than 1 hour here.
