| Enchey Monastery |

Approximately two hundred
years old, the Enchey Monastery situated on a hill top is an important seat of
the Nyingma order. The name 'Enchey Monastery' means 'the Solitary temple'.
It is believed that the
monastery was built on the site blessed by Lama Drupthob Karpo, a tantric
master famous for his flying prowess. Originally, the Lama had built a small
hermitage at the site after flying here from Maenam Hill in South
Sikkim. The present monastery in the shape of a Chinese Pagoda was
built later during the reign of Sikyong Tulku (1909-1910).
The Enchey Monastery houses
within its complex many images of Gods, Goddesses and other religious objects.
Every year a puja is held at the monastery, on the 18th and 19th day of the
12th month of the lunar calendar. The "Chaam" or religious masked
dance is performed in January at the monastery.

1.what are the traosport facility from BAgdogra airport to Gangtok?
2. best local area to stay (range 500-1200/-)from the facility(transport/food) assebility point opf view.
3. best way for site seeing.( hiring a cab or sharing taxi??)
