Essel World

Essel World & Water Kingdom is the largest amusement and water theme park in India. Situated in Gorai Island, this is the only international-style amusement park built within Mumbai. The park is divided into two major sections, Essel World (amusement park) and Water Kingdom (water park), which was added to the park in 1998.

The amusement park offers a variety of exciting rides, games and other attractions like standard roller coaster and adventure themes. Water Kingdom has waterslides for adults and kids, a drifting river and various theme cruises. Spread across an area of 260,000 sq. m, this amusement park is frequented by 10,000 visitors every day.

Tourists can board a ferry for the park, take a bus, or drive to it. Driving to the park may take around 45 to 60 minutes, when heading towards Western Express Highway. From en route to Kashimira, travellers can switch to the MBBT Bus no. 4 from Bhayander Bus Depot that heads directly towards Essel World & Water Kingdom.

Those intending to undertake a ferry ride can take a Western Railway train to either Borivali or Malad. From Malad, an auto rickshaw or BEST bus number 272 can be taken to Marve beach. An auto rickshaw or BEST bus number 294 to Gorai cheek is available from Borivali. From either of the two, ferries can be taken to travel directly to the park. The ferry ride takes 15 minutes from Gorai cheek and 30 minutes from Marve beach.
