Essel World & Water Kingdom is the largest amusement and water theme park in India. Situated in Gorai Island, this is the only international-style amusement park built within Mumbai. The park is divided into two major sections, Essel World (amusement park) and Water Kingdom (water park), which was added to the park in 1998.

The amusement park offers a variety of exciting rides, games and other attractions like standard roller coaster and adventure themes. Water Kingdom has waterslides for adults and kids, a drifting river and various theme cruises. Spread across an area of 260,000 sq. m, this amusement park is frequented by 10,000 visitors every day.

Tourists can board a ferry for the park, take a bus, or drive to it. Driving to the park may take around 45 to 60 minutes, when heading towards Western Express Highway. From en route to Kashimira, travellers can switch to the MBBT Bus no. 4 from Bhayander Bus Depot that heads directly towards Essel World & Water Kingdom.

Those intending to undertake a ferry ride can take a Western Railway train to either Borivali or Malad. From Malad, an auto rickshaw or BEST bus number 272 can be taken to Marve beach. An auto rickshaw or BEST bus number 294 to Gorai cheek is available from Borivali. From either of the two, ferries can be taken to travel directly to the park. The ferry ride takes 15 minutes from Gorai cheek and 30 minutes from Marve beach.

This place is regarded as the first adventure park in India. Indeed it stays true to its name. Adventurous rides for adults and kids friendly rides makes it a must have for every family.

"An amazing Amusement Park"

After my exams, I went to Essel World for De-stressing myself. To reach there, you need to take a ferry from Gorai or Marve Beach. It is an excellent place and truly, India's Largest and best Theme Park. There are many Thrilling Rides. Some are a little scary, but very enjoyable. There are 3 types of roller coaster rides, some 360 degree rides, which leave you thrilled. There are 2 water rides also some separate rides for kids. There are many rides for adults. Each and everyone will enjoy their day in Essel World. I recommend this place to everyone, who wishes to enjoy a day away from boring Daily routine.

Essel world is so famous in Mumbai that even school kids of std 5 are knowing about it and are always ready to visit here. There are so much rides available there that one would have to spend almost a complete day to board each and every rides. Best place for college groups.

It was very good experience to visit Essel World and Water Park, both on separate days. Striking car is must. Surya Ride was also exciting. If you go in group, it would be more better.

"Truly a fun if visited with family"

This is my dream place. I have visited Essel world more then 10 times. Whenever I visit Mumbai, I go to Essel world. It's in an island in between bay. We have to take boat to go there. Entering Essel world, you would get mad about the rides. Frankly speaking, its a truly a fun if visited with family. Your mind would get relaxed.

"Popular amusement park"

  • 6.00/7
  • Posted Apr 17, 2014
It is one of the most converted amusement parks in India. With best in class rides and being India's biggest water park, this place really rocks. There are rides for the people of every age. And there are so many rides that even after spending the whole day you will not be able to cover the whole park. If you go on a Sunday or on a holiday then you will see a lot of crowd. So try to visit the place during weekdays.
