I was with my wife for an holidays to Shimla. We spend five days in evening hotel due its best location and facilities. Corner room I stay is best and not having any disturbance and the sun set looks very beautiful from balcony of room. Room is well arranged. Staff with smiling faces provide good and fast service. Pahadi food of Shimla are speciality of hotel.
The hotel was located in the centre of the city and nearby the temple. The hotel surroundings were good. The hotel looked quite decent from internal as well as external. The hotel staffs were helpful and cooperative. The staffs at the reception were quite good and welcomed the guests with respect. The check in and checkout process was done on time. The room was allotted on time by the front office staff. The overall service given by the staffs were nice and they were prompt in their action. The room was comfortable and had a cosy ambiance. The basic amenities like TV and geyser in the room were working well. The housekeeping staff did its job well and regularly cleaned the room. The bed sheets, linens were changed and cleaned by the housekeeping staff. There was no problem with water supply. The vegetarian food was provided in the hotel. The food taste and quality had no issues. The room service was quick. There were no activities in the hotel. It was a relaxation trip. I had visited with my family. I would recommend this hotel to other travellers.
I stayed in hotel. I stayed for two days in this hotel. I booked two rooms of this hotel. Very nice hotel. Neat and shiny room. Bathroom are also clean. The service of hotel is very good. Also tasty food. The location of hotel is too good. I want to stay here again when I come to Shimla.
We had been on a family trip to the mountains in October - a pleasant time to be there I guess. The "evening in Shimla" still is great, despite the maddening over urbanization of the surroundings. Hotel EVE had been offered to us by Colors of India in the package as a two star outfit. Matching the cost with the conveniences, for a short-stay (two nights in our case) I must say the place is good if not excellent. For longer stays in house recreational facilities, or at least a good lounge and a restaurant is a must which you shall not find here. Being in the heritage zone I was told not much improvements can now be carried out. If not an escalator from the road, at least an internal lift should be installed to offer relief from the climb inside to the rooms on upper floors.. The window of my room had an excellent view of the city farther in the depths and the beautiful High Court block right up front. Overlooking the terrace of another holel and a vacant patch in between, right in-front, the fag end of the Mall also is visible-50 feet down below, meandering by stealthily. The bed and bed linen is ordinary or under-par and can/should be better. The food served is plentiful and good, staff polite and helpful. HOWEVER : i) early morning risers should note that nothing would be available before 7-30 AM, the Front Desk is not manned during the night, so visitors must keep emergency medicines or desired stocks in hand. ii) the there is no motorable approach leading to the entrance. Visitors have to find their long and tiring way from the Lower Highway, along with all the bag and baggage, up-up the LIFTS (two nos) to the Mall...then trudge down the Mall a good distance to the hotel location....... and then take a deep breath...... and start climbing a horrible flight of steep stairs at least 3 stories at a stretch, up the hill slope.... All this when you may have but the last pint of energy left travelling to Shimla from Delhi, Chandigarh or Chennai. This is a very disappointing and arduous ordeal. Senior citizens may not make it to the holel at all.... A feature that is not clearly shown in the review photographs. iii) The Toilet is clean and maintained, but one must have his / her vanity case. ADVICE : It could be a better idea to find a decent stay and keep the car, bags and baggage in a hotel on the Highway below. Walk up free-hands to the Lifts and up to the Mall for the stroll, street food, shopping and a marvelous treat of the Architecture of the Heritage buildings, and of course the lovely crowd.... Go back down to the hotel to sleep, and roll out in your car to places that you be visiting around Shimla.
Room is just OK. Its basic, nothing much to talk about. View from balcony is good. Definitely better to go for rooms on higher floors. Best part of the stay are the people working for the hotel. The room service is good as well. Food is fine. Overall a good place to stay.
