My wife and myself decided to travel to Wayanad at short notice and did not do any hotel bookings. While going in the bus from Hyderabad we surfed through HoildayiQ from my mobile and made a list of probable hotels. When we reached Wayanad the next day by bus to our horror all the hotels were full (it was Christmas Day). When we called up Mr. Martin he immediately said he has one room but is was available for a day. He also came to receive us at the bus stand within 10 min and guided us to his homestay in an auto. The place and surroundings were very nice. The approach road is a bit narrow but that is normal in Kerala and his homestay is anyway walking distance from both bus stands as well as Kalpetta market area. The next day we were hunting around other hotels where we could shift when Mr. Martin gave the good news that the party who were supposed to come had cancelled their trip and we could continue. That was a relief ! We stayed the remaining 2 days also at his homestay itself. We had breakfast at his place only on the first day and it was delicious (Puttu and Kadalai). Other two days we left very early in the morning to Meppadi to see our son's team's Football matches, as they were also touring Kerala. Mr. Martin was very helpful in giving us directions and best and most economical modes of covering the sightseeing around Wayanad. Of course we did not do much sightseeing except Pookoot lake and Soochipara Waterfalls. Mr. Martin's hospitality is legendary and he did not take any amount as advance and we paid the entire amount of the homestay while we checked out. And he also dropped us in his car at the bus stand.. The rooms are modern and clean (exactly as shown in the photos) and service and surroundings is very good. If you are driving and going, there is a comfortable parking area in front of the cottage. Overall experience is very good. We will definitely stay there if we visit again.

Best Experience: Mr. Martin came to pick us up from the bus stand. He never took any advance and we paid the entire amount while checking out.. Where do you get to see this kind of trust these days ? He finally dropped us in his car at the bus stand.

Worst Experience: Nothing as such

It was a very pleasant stay. Based on the reviews we have selected Green Mount, and it didn\'t let us down. Starting from the enquiry, booking, stay and till the Checkout its was a very pleasant experience. Mr. Martin is a very kind person and he will be always available for any help. Martin helped us a lot in planning our sight-seeing and also recommended good hotels(Woodland is very very decent hotel). The rooms were very clean, spacious, maintained well and has enough privacy.

Best Experience: 1. The hospitality of Martin was the best part. We checked-in during the evening and were were very tired, Martin offered us a nice refreshing Coffee/Tea. Later we came to know that he took the pain to get it from outside since his family members were not at home at that time. 2. The food was awesome(Kerala special breakfasts) 3. They offer some discount since i was staying for 3 days without even asking for it. 4. Location of the home-stay, its easier to access and its located in Kalpetta which is centre to all sight-seeing places. 5. Overall great Value For Money.

We went for a short trip to wayand .We Stayed there in 26th,27th,& 28th January 2011. Had a wonderful three days stay.The Important thing is Mr. Martin Lopez?s is too good in his hospitality.The Green mount cottage is conveniently located in the heart of Kalpetta which allows for easy access to shops, restaurants . The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. Mr. Martin Lopez provided a detailed map and directions and also helped in arrange Jeep for sightseeing in the area, and provide excellent food. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay and we would strongly recommend the stay as a true value for money.Thank you so much Mr.Martin
