Recently, I went with my family for weekend stay at Fariyas Resort looking to relax and enjoy and I must say that this is one of very few places where one can find everything good. Food, games, rooms, service, garden, pool, etc. The rooms are walloped with TV, stb, fridge, Bath tub and balcony offering a lovely view of garden. There are 2 swimming pools, one outdoor with water rides for children and family to enjoy and another indoor surrounding which there are games like table tennis, carrom and soccer table. Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the 'Coffee Shop' were all superb especially the 'lasagna' and desserts like 'gulab jamun'. The resort has a really big garden where one can play cricket, badminton or just stroll around enjoying the view and taking pictures. One thing I really liked was the basketball court near the garden. Fariyas has got state of the art conference rooms and very helpful staff. The resort is 5 minutes from the main market where one can feast on Vada pavs, bhajiyas and most famous Lonavala ki chikki. All in all, I would recommend anyone to stay at Fariyas as it's a perfect place to relax and have fun.
I and my wife were planning a short break in Lonavala for 1 night, 2 days and hence decided to give Fariyas a try. We had heard a lot about the property and hence, in spite of the premium cost, decided to go ahead with the same However, the decision seemed incorrect right from the word go. After we had booked the place, we called up the hotel to ask a couple of things like transfers, booking confirmation, etc. For a resort that calls itself a 5 star property, the staff was mediocre at best - they simply didn't know how to speak on the phone and most of the things they said were either incorrect or incomplete. The 2nd disappointment was the car that they sent for the pick-up (they charge an additional amount for this) from Lonavala station - have never seen a 5 star resort use anything but a sedan class vehicle - Fariyas sent us a mid-end SUV. But that was the least of the issues When we finally reached the hotel, they forgot our welcome drinks (we never got it actually). The check-in was quick though and the staff at the reception had our details at the ready. The staff of the hotel seems to be the only saving grace for the property We were given a room on the 2nd floor and this turned out to be another disappointment. There was a distinct damp smell prevalent in the room at all times. In fact, the room was so badly maintained that there was mould (fungus) of some kind growing on the ceiling of the balcony (See photo attached). The toiletries and other essentials were as expected - thank God for that Next demerit was the food. We had lunch at the in-house buffet and were impressed neither by the quality (taste, texture, nor the quantity. There was barely 1 main course in the non-veg section and another item was super spicy. The dessert section, though well-stocked, left a lot to be desired in terms of taste and quality. There was an overbearing aroma of eggs in a couple of items Last but not the least, was the super hot and extremely uncomfortable climate that was maintained in common indoor areas like the coffee shop (where the buffet is served) and the main reception area. I was literally sweating while eating - have never seen a "5 star" resort use coolers to maintain the climate. Needless to say, they were grossly inadequate. Besides us a couple of other guests also complained about the same I almost forgot to mention that the resort does not provide free WiFi. I mean for the price they charge, this is the least that they can do. WiFi is almost like an essential necessity nowadays To conclude, I would say that if in Lonavala, please look at all other options before deciding on this place. The view is also not great.
I have been there twice, first for a day event and more recently for a three day workplace related event. In the event with a stay over two nights, I found this resort a very good one for a work related or a leisurely holiday. Their theme seems to be greenery and you see it everywhere in the architecture, their furnishings and even the placemats on dining tables. Though the resort is an old one, they seem to have regularly upgraded it and the rooms are very well furnished, well maintained and very comfortable for a stay. This is one of the hotel resorts, where one does not get any room to complain as everything is in order and the staff are well trained, friendly and helpful. The breakfast is served at their open air cafe and sometimes one gets to see birds chirping and sharing the table with diners! The food is a vast spread and very well made and served hot and tasty. There is good place for relaxation too with the swimming pools and other facilities. The resort is well designed in keeping with the terrain and has multiple levels along the gradient. Rooms are at three different levels and convention and banquet facilities plenty to cater to multiple groups.
Hi. I have visited this hotel last year in the rains, and believe me my trip of 3 days and 2 nights was just wat I wanted. Whole ambience was filled with greenery and exotic plant's. We were welcomed wit warm and caring staff. From our busy life, my husband and I wanted to have some time together and things were exactly what we have planned . . We had asked for pool facing room, which had a spectacular view, and da climate at that time was excellent. Our room was great, everything was available inside. Room service was good and prompt. Pool was well maintained and clean. The staff was excellent and helped us in clicking our snaps too. All slides were good and exciting and well maintained. But the poolside bar was closed. We just enjoyed the pool and da day passed by. In the evening hotel lobby was mesmerized wit the sound of piano, played by a local. Musician. Food was great, with separate veg and non veg section, but I think that the variety was lessening a 5 star rated). And mostly India food was available. The kids play zone was good and kids pool area was excellent and safe. Overall I rate this place 9/10 as its good for all ages and relaxing and peaceful, away from. Noise and pollution.
I recently had the opportunity to visit Fariyas after my firm took me (and the other 200+ employees) for a corporate off-site here. The hotel service handled this huge group of people with great efficiency, which I think is commendable. The hotel folks are prompt and very courteous The whole premise is really beautiful and do not go overboard by imposing a heavy decor. The rooms are airy with picture perfect soft beds. The bathroom is really luxurious. One simply doesn't like getting out of the bathtub They score a lot of points on their activity quotient. They have a mini water park which is perfect to spend those hot afternoons. They also have a indoor swimming pool for the less daring ones The only thing that disappointed me was their food. I was hoping for something amazing coming out of the kitchen of such a lavish resort and received something average for the expectations that the place sets In net, I'm sure one would definitely not want to explore the other things that Lonavala has to offer after staying here. Staying here is a perfect blend of Lonavala's amazing climate with the royal treatment that Fariyas offers.
