Fateh Garh, Udaipur
Sisarma, Udaipur, Rajasthan 313001
Good property but awful service , the whole experience gets spoiled by the rude uneducated staff and idiotic rules . Definitely not worth the cost as it leaves a bad taste even after spending a premium price , you have to pay extra for bottles of water , find used toiletries in rooms .no arrangement for drivers , a total regret
A 45 minute drive from the airport and after crossing the city of Udaipur, one starts driving down winding lanes and witnesses a grand palace like structure atop a small hillock. First impressions indeed are impressive as your vehicle draws up the steep entrance of Fatehgarh Hotel. This luxurious property looks like a palace but was actually constructed only about a decade ago by one of the giants of Udaipur's marble industry. The look and feel of the hotel is pure class as the grandeur spills across its lobby, the open courtyards, the pool area and it boasts of stunning views over Udaipur and the nearby hills. The hotel is spread over few floors and some have to be accessed by climbing stairs which makes it difficult for some elderly guests. They do have a vehicle entrance up to the rooms for disabled guests though. Facilities include 2 swimming pools, spa, vintage car display and they also have zip lining for the adventure enthusiasts. The restaurant serves good food both Rajasthani and Indian. We had the pleasure of 2 breakfast here and most of the dishes tasted good. The buffet had selection of fruits, juice, cereal and parathas, poha, some south indian dishes, mirchi vada etc. Service tends to be on the slower side across the hotel but it is not too bad. Coming to the rooms, the large size of the room is a delight, and there were sofas and tables in each of the rooms beside a large double bed. Moreover every room boasts of a view. We were here to attend a wedding hence some of the room facilities had been stripped down I reckon, there were very limited toiletries and the mini bar was completely empty. Washroom had a shower area and our room had no tub, though some others did. There is little to complain here, especially if you are on a holiday this is perfect for relaxation. Only disadvantage being it is a 15 min drive to the city, but that can be overlooked. I've stayed at near about a 100 hotels now and believe me, this is a really good deal for the price paid. Should give it a try. Room Tip: Rooms 1 and 2 are cut off from the rest if you need full privacy.
Everything about Fatehgarh palace is just excellent!! the rooms, the service, the location...we had a short visit in mid july and were lucky to be surrounded by the lush green mountains and a beautiful view of the lake..rooms are very spacious with very good facilities..the staff has been the best among all the places we have stayed till date..they are very courteous and always attending to their respective duties with a smile..both the swimming pools were well kept..Food was once of the best we have ever tasted and it was a great experience to enjoy the food on the terrace with the melodious tunes of the jaltarang..A must visit for everyone who needs some time to sit back and relax!!!!!
We 3 couples with 4 kids from 4 Years to a Years stayed there during Diwali Vacation & its was a Unforgettable Experience. Everything is all set for you. The resort itself is Grand with a Clear View of fateh Sagar Lake, Lake Palace & City Palace on One side & Sajjangarh Palace on the Other.
