The Lake Resort Reviews

First the place - tranquil, far from the madding crowd - you get the environs of a lake minus the crowds; one can always visit Nainital if you want to, without having to experience the population explosion even on a holiday! The hotel: excellently located, on the waterfront itself - sitting in their lawn, you seem to be on the lake itself; boating service is close at hand too. Spacious, well furnsihed and clean rooms, but the activity related facilities like the TT / Carrom Board seem to have been installed and forgotten.

Best Experience: The restaurant used to call us up, take the orders, enquire about when we would go down, keep a table reserved and serve the food hot within minutes of our reaching there.

Worst Experience: Not really - however the older rooms need some modernising in the bathrooms, which I was told is being taken up shortly. Also, the design with rafters in the ceilings is fine from a visual experience, but has practical issues like lizard droppings on the beds below ! The new rooms have sloped but false ceilings, which is a more practical idea.

Naukuchiatal is a very small place and I guess, but for the Lake Resort, one cannot think about staying there even for a night! The resort is in the middle of a jungle and right on top of the lake. It has a beautiful view of the Lake and the surroundings are quiet and serene. Food was home-like and was freshly cooked on order. Prices, too, were reasonable. It is a good property. SOme more activities for children can keep them busy, and power outages were frequent. The resort is hesitant in immediately switching on the generator systems, so the only activity for children, being the Television, was also inaccessible for good part of the day! The buffet breakfast and dinner can also be improved in terms of variety. If these small improvements can be made, I guess it is an ideal place to spend 2-3 days.

Best Experience: The staff is very friendly and amiable. They were honest enough to inform us that lunch is prepared fresh on order and will take about an hour, so we could order in advance and enjoy it when ready!

A beautiful place.........managed very badly......our so called family suite was shabby.........power back up was only for lights....no activities for kids or family....no welcome drink was offerred.........no fridge or tea coffee arrangement in the room.......the corridor to our room was dark dingy n dirty.....the phone in room was. not working. .......plus add to that the monkey menace at 5am jumping on the tin rooftop

Best Experience: The view of the lake from the resort is lovely

Worst Experience: Monkeys creating a racket on the tin roofs at 5am. .....A rude awakening...

The hotel has beautiful rooms, with good views. But the older blocks have large rooms but are a bit damp. The furniture is our room was slightly old but still the room had beautiful windows. The best is the view over the lake. The entire path along the hotel is along the lake, however some of this is covered by trees so there is no direct view (applicable to some rooms as well). The hotel has benches where you can sit all day and just gaze out. They are quite professional about the food and had a proper buffet but do not expect anything phenomenal.

A perfect getaway,overlooking the lake,peaceful and refreshing.It's a huge property with beautifully maintained gardens;They have seating overlooking the lake where we spent most of our time, just chilling and having tea.The staff is extremely caring and courteous. The rooms are spacious and give a beautiful view of the lake.The food is excellent,serving both veg and non-veg.Best holiday we have had.

Best Experience: The Mornings :- Having Hot Tea, while sitting on the balcony looking at the awesome view of the lake. Amazing, utterly to die for. The restaurant :- The food was just too good.We kept having the butter naan and chicken, absolutely cooked to perfection. Yet the attentive man, Mr.Anand, would say we ate less. :) The ambience :- Relaxing,refreshing,peaceful.Just what we wanted.

Worst Experience: None whatsoever. Worth visiting again and again.
