Spread
over 66 hectares, the Southern Forest Ranger's College is one of the oldest
institutions of its kind in the country.
Situated 3.5 km. from the Coimbatore Railway Station, it is worth a
visit to see Museum
of Natural History which
is housed within the College campus.
The Museum and the neighbouring Botanical Garden
have nearly 300 species of rare and endangered plants. Apart from plants, the
museum also has an interesting collection of different minerals, rocks, pests,
snakes, insects and fungal diseases that afflict plants and trees.

 From Isha centre,velangiri hills to kerala. | | I am visiting Isha centre,Dhyanalinga on 6th OCt(MON).Will stay with family.Then next day we want to visit nearby places.been ooty.So not interested.Heard Palakkad is nearby,Malampuzha and allepey to,say if i leave by 12.30 train,will reach allepey by 8pm...So please tell me which all places in kerala to visit.We wish to leave on 9th night.Should i visit Palakkad,etc then allepey?is there any arranged travels?whom to contact?or will it be far off?plz help me out.... | | | travelling from coiambatore to ooty | | I and my wife ( we are 59 and 56 year old) will reach Coimbatore from Delhi by air around 1100 AM. We wish to go to Ooty, as early as possible, but on a reasonable budget (we are Indian middle class). We do not want to travel standing in buses. We need suggestions. Can I get a shared taxi at Coimbtore airport, which will take us directly to Ooty. If not, then are there shared taxis available from Coimbtore city. If yes then from which place in Coimbtore.
