I had good experience at this hotel and I had been to this hotel in the month of November 2016. The location of the hotel was good. The appearance of the hotel was good internally and externally. There was no delay in check in and checkout. The staff members in the hotel were helpful and quick in services. The room allotted to me was well maintained with the entire required amenity in working condition. I ate food outside the hotel. There were no activities in the hotel. I will recommend this hotel for upcoming travellers.
The destination of the hotel was very good. The overall experience of the hotel was very good. All the facility was provided in the room. The sightseeing was not arranged by the hotel. The best part of the hotel was the service.

HOME ON THE BEACH This is \'home\' to a great many Indians who discovered Goa in the 70s, before the package-tourist hordes arrived. Its one of only three hotels directly on the beach in Goa, despite the hype of other so-called beachfront resorts. Its location has a certain \'magic\' which has never been surpassed. The hotel has a rich and varied history, having hosted heads-of-state, business tycoons, film stars and even served as a film-set. Indeed, it has its own helipad! The Aguada complex is part of the Taj Group of Hotels; and actually consists of three properties --- the \'main\' hotel being the Fort Aguada Beach Resort (FABR) built on the ruins of a Portuguese fort, with an adjunct called the Aguada Hermitage, comprising private villas, dotting the mountainside behind it. There is a sister-hotel called Taj Holiday Village (THV) built directly on the beach, on a sprawling estate with cottages. Guests staying at any of these can freely use the facilities and restaurants at all. This is a truly world-class resort offering an experience that is utterly unique. Its decor has an old-world, homely charm and style that is far more \'comfortable\' than high-tech glitz or ostentatious opulence. There are genuine antiques, paintings, sketches and artefacts all over; all in impeccable taste and spotlessly maintained. The slightly \'old-fashioned\' feel would actually be quite welcome to travelers tired of modern 5-star excess! Rooms of choice would be the Terrace Suites on the south side, with little sitting-rooms and large terraces offering magnificent sea-views (see picture). Those on a budget should consider the new \'sea-view rooms with sitouts\' on the ground floor --- not quite so luxurious or private but with that amazing view. Families may want to stay at THV instead, as that is more child-friendly and has a large palm-fringed pool. The atmosphere at FABR is distinctly more \'adult\'....and very VERY romantic! There was a time when people staying here preferred to eat outside....those who do that now need to have their heads examined! Because the food here is absolutely SUPERB --- the variety of cuisines, from local to Meditteranean, European, South-East Asian etc is impressive indeed....and then there\'s the sea-food which is, quite simply, hors concours. Everything from pizza to Lobster Thermidor is perfectly prepared....and the menu is filled with interesting and innovative items. A down-side? Sadly, yes. The beach, once one of the best in Goa, has now been ruined by the presence of a ship stranded close to the shore. This wreck has given rise to strange currents and these, coupled with very heavy rains over the past 2 years, have caused massive erosion. Swimming is inadvisable --- and indeed dangerous because of the too many reckless water-sports operators that have suddenly mushroomed on the beach, adding to the ecological problems and pollution. Even so, one can still take a walk during the early-morning or sunset; and savour the remnants of what used to be an extremely beautiful coastline. The best time to visit is November to February; but booking well in advance is mandatory. Chances are, the beauty of the place and the warmth of the staff (and the fantastic food!) will make you, like so many others, a \'regular\' looking forward to \'coming home\' again....and again.
Family Vacation at Vivanta by Taj at Fort Aguada was truly an amazing experience. Smartly dressed hotel staff greeted us & took our luggage from Airport lounge. Complimentary Transfer from Airport to Hotel is provided in AC coach. At the hotel entrance, a huge well decorated lobby with a magnificent view of ramparts of the Portuguese Fort and Sinquerim beach overlooking Arabian Sea in the background welcomed us. While enjoying the view, welcome drink was served and check in formalities were completed in a very friendly way by the reception staff. Our room was beautifully set and had a fabulous sea view. Children liked the choice of pillows available in the room. Bathroom, though not very big, was spotlessly clean and well designed with bathtub and other amenities. One problem for Indian tourist is that toilet seats are not fitted with water jet. The room had all the luxuries like mini bar, DVD player, LCD, personal tea/coffee makers and decor in traditional Portuguese style. Room service was excellent and rooms are cleaned twice daily. The staff are truly amazing and really do know the true meaning of service There are five restaurants/Bars where variety of food and beverages like sea food delicacy, Italian food, Indian buffet, cocktails & mocktails are served in lively ambiance. Food tastes excellent and displayed in creative style. We feel that food at Taj Vivanta is the best in Goa. Buffet breakfast which is part of package is lavish with variety of food from all over. Dessert station full of delicious pastries and sweets is the most popular among children. Live Music at pool in the evening with guests dancing on Goan music is a retreat. Infinity swimming pool is a fun with children enjoying splash and ballooning games. In the evening there is live music with dance at swimming pool. Relaxing in huts around pool is exquisite. Complimentary snacks are served during pool hours. Children have lots of indoor and outdoor activities arranged by hotel. Hotel also have an exclusive Sports complex where one can enjoy games like TT, tennis, volleyball, squash, cricket, golf, billiards etc. Hotel also arranges outdoor activities like rock-climbing, trekking, rappelling etc. The hotel covers a huge area with charming gardens and picturesque landscaping all around. The beach just on the back side of hotel which is accessible through guarded back gate. All water-sports activities like Windsurfing, paragliding, jet-skiing, scuba diving, dolphin tour are just outside the back-gate of hotel. One can enjoy the clean beach which is well kept by hotel staff. It's a Luxury Resort in true sense. There is a gift shop named Taj Khazana which had a very good curios collection. Other facilities which we could not use include Spa, fitness center, beauty salon and library. Stay at Taj Vivanta for about a week to enjoy the Hotel lavishly; it is really an amazing & wonderful memorable experience. We'll look forward for opportunities to return.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and one that i would savour for years. Not just me but my family including inlaws loved every moment. My son played on the beach , the garden , lobby ... for once he actually refused to go home ... The location and views from the hotel are phenomenal, the villas are private, the room service and housekeeping is impeccable. Its actually hard to find fault with anything.
This was my second visit to Goa, last time we stayed at a rented house, but this time we planned to stay in a hotel, just to try something different. I would say Taj Aguada is a perfect home, because it has a homely environment. We stayed at the hotel for 5 Nights and believe me, those nights were one of a kind. Everything there was just awesome. Well maintained will be a correct word. Worth mentioning the service, they knew their work perfectly. As we were with kids, so obviously there was a mess going on, but all Taj staff delivered the service with smile. All staff members maintained the high quality of service levels. There were many facilities for children as well. No kids were left unhappy. A point worth mentioning is, there was seepage from the roof in which we were staying, so staff has to take care of such things also before giving the room. So, overall experience was Awesome. The Food was overall Great. Just visit this place and enjoy the Vacations completely. Even if you are bored, then beaches are there for your rescue. I would definitely like to visit this Hotel if I happened to visit Goa anytime soon.
Went there in the month of April 2013. It was an office offsite where in we had taken a package which includes all meals. Additionally most of the time was spent at the property itself. Staff & Service: This is one area where Taj properties never let you down. Staff was always helpful and courteous. View: Property is situated at one end of Candolim beach and has an amazing view of the sea. Hotel is spread across a small mountain and our room was on one of the slants which had a beautiful view of the sea. Food & Drink: We dined at various restaurants in both Vivanta as well as the sister resort (Holiday Village). Food and service were always good. Chef himself explained us about the local cuisine and suggested various accompaniments that we should try. However one thing which was a let down was options in veg being limited. Room: Didn't spend much time in the room (It was Goa!) however I have to mention one thing. The glass in the bathrooms is completely transparent (There is a curtain but there are slits) which can work to your advantage or disadvantage (depending upon whom are you sharing your room with :D ) Amenities: We didn't try any of the activities. However I must mention that hotel staff doesn't mind if you are using swimming pool of Holiday Village which is better than the Vivanta pool. Location: It is located at one end of Candolim beach which is much more cleaner and less crowded as compared to Bagha or Calunghute. Additionally, some of the coolest clubs/lounges have come up in Candolim which works well.
