We had a great stay at Taj Fort Aguada, the service offered is very good . They take good care of guests and offer any assistance needed. Buffet breakfast spread is huge and very tasty. So much to do in the resort that you can't feel like going out . Amazing place
We had a pleasant stay at Taj Fort Aguada, the service offered is very good. They take good care of guests and offer any assistance needed. Buffet breakfast spread is huge and very tasty. Nice place to be with family especially kids. Only problem is that you have to climb down the steps to go to the beach, which was difficult for us as we were with kids.
We stayed at this hotel on a family trip celebrating my 50th birthday. It was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. We got a garden facing room which overlooked the sea. The view from the room was wonderful. The rooms were spacious and well furnished, though the furniture looked Little Bit old But I can Understand As The Hotel Was Fully Occupies So Its Obvious. The bathrooms were big with all facilities in one place. The only problem was it was old and needed to be renovated but as I motioned above that hotel was fully occupied so it was difficult for staff to manage everything in such a short time. Overall cleanliness and hygiene were good. Taj always has the most courteous staff who are always ready to help. If you stay in this property you also have access to the neighboring taj property Holiday Village. There are hotel owned cars which drop you to the other hotel and to the gym. You could use the pools from both the property. The pool at Aguada had a wonderful view but the pool at Holiday Village was much bigger and nicer. The Bar and lounge next to the pool at Aguada is a must do. Sit there, relax have a drink and watch the sea. The buffet spread was very lavish with enough options for vegetarians as well as non vegetarians. Do try their salads and desserts. They are to die for. All in all it was a wonderful experience as they also arranged for a complimentary family photo shoot and cake cutting ceremony for my birthday. They also gifted us a framed family photograph. All in all its a very big and beautifully done property. You should explore the cottages up on the hill as well and go see the last point uphill and enjoy the beautiful landscape and greenery. Also there is a very popular night club called Sinq opposite Holiday Village. All in all a Thumbs Up if they renovate the rooms a little bit. I would Love to visit again with my family.
Family Vacation at Vivanta by Taj at Fort Aguada was truly an amazing experience. Smartly dressed hotel staff greeted us & took our luggage from Airport lounge. Complimentary Transfer from Airport to Hotel is provided in AC coach. At the hotel entrance, a huge well decorated lobby with a magnificent view of ramparts of the Portuguese Fort and Sinquerim beach overlooking Arabian Sea in the background welcomed us. While enjoying the view, welcome drink was served and check in formalities were completed in a very friendly way by the reception staff . Our room was beautifully set and had a fabulous sea view. Children liked the choice of pillows available in the room. Bathroom, though not very big, was spotlessly clean and well designed with bathtub and other amenities. One problem for Indian tourist is that toilet seats are not fitted with water jet. The room had all the luxuries like mini bar, DVD player, LCD, personal tea/coffee makers and decor in traditional Portuguese style. Room service was excellent and rooms are cleaned twice daily. The staff are truly amazing and really do know the true meaning of service. There are five restaurants/Bars where variety of food and beverages like sea food delicacy, Italian food, Indian buffet, cocktails & mocktails are served in lively ambience. Food tastes excellent and displayed in creative style. We feel that food at Taj Vivanta is the best in Goa. Buffet breakfast which is part of package is lavish with variety of food from all over. Dessert station full of delicious pastries and sweets is the most popular among children. Live Music at pool in the evening with guests dancing on Goan music is a retreat . Infinity swimming pool is a fun with children enjoying splash and ballooning games. In the evening there is live music with dance at swimming pool. Relaxing in huts around pool is exquisite. Complimentary snacks are served during pool hours. Children have lots of indoor and outdoor activities arranged by hotel. Hotel also have an exclusive Sports complex where one can enjoy games like TT, tennis, volleyball, squash, cricket, golf, billiards etc. Hotel also arranges outdoor activities like rock-climbing, trekking, rappelling etc . The hotel covers a huge area with charming gardens and picturesque landscaping all around. The beach just on the back side of hotel which is accessible through guarded back gate. All water-sports activities like Windsurfing, paragliding, jet-skiing, scuba diving, dolphin tour are just outside the back-gate of hotel. One can enjoy the clean beach which is well kept by hotel staff. It's a Luxury Resort in true sense . . There is a gift shop named Taj Khazana which had a very good curios collection. Other facilities which we could not use include Spa, fitness center, beauty salon and library. Stay at Taj Vivanta for about a week to enjoy the Hotel lavishly; it is really an amazing & wonderful memorable experience. We'll look forward for opportunities to return.
We stayed at the Taj Vivanta fort Aguada resort from between April 16th 2016 to April 19, 2016. Room no. 501. I had booked a package which included shared airport pick and drop and all 3 meals. The period included my 2 special occasions including my marriage anniversary and a birthday so it was well timed. We stayed in a villa called the temptation villa! ( I think) On arrival at Goa airport the pickup process was a tad disappointing. There was one person just standing with a placard of fort Aguada/holiday village looking blank. When I told him we were customers he directed, without talking, to a place of pickup. Since I was a little confused as to where he pointed to, I again had to ask. Finally I saw someone else who looked to also be a taj employee and he directed me. It was in stark contrast to the reception we had got almost 6 years back at park hyatt Goa and a year back at Vivanta bekal, Kerala where a personalized placard with name was held by a person and immediately someone rushed to take the luggage. I also feel being Taj Vivanta and for the price they charge should we have gotten a personalized car rather than a shared vehicle In any event, we got into the bus. There were 3 other families with us. Two for holiday village, which comes first and the balance two for aguada. The journey was a tiresome 2 hours while we were told it would be 1 hour 10 minutes When we arrived at the hotel it was already 3:45 pm. Check in process was fast and good. I had made a reminder earlier that there were two special occasions and one (which was a birthday) was remembered by the staff. It was nice to know that a birthday cake had been organized in the room already. Later in the room three hotel staff were also sent to sing a happy birthday song! It was very well done so I was pleased The room (501) was a wonderful newly done up room. It had a large bedroom with an LCD tv! A bathtub and 2 wash basins Bath and a nice dressing area. There was also a small living room with another tv (helps when you have 2 kids! And a small dining room with a table for 4. It was a newly done up room; and very tastefully done up in a combination of white and blue with a european hint to it. The only point I would think is that they should have a small shower or at least tap outside where one can wash off the sand from the beach before entering the villa. Also, it would be good to be able to access the bathroom from outside without entering the main living or bedroom area. (As were the case on both points with the vivanta bekal! ). Our room was not sea facing (although that didn't bother us too much); and on an excursion of the property I discovered that 313/314/315 (hermitage villas) and 403 and 404 (cottages) are sea facing; as are the newly done up apartment rooms on either side of the main lobby The other point is that since it is a hilly resort, you constantly need a car to go up at least, if you don't want to exercise and walk up. This is especially the case in the afternoon in April when it is hot and after a satisfying lunch you don't want to trudge up in the heat. The holiday village as against that has a flat topography and so it is easier to walk around. One good this is that you can stay in either resort and access facilities of both (including restaurants, swimming pool and kids facility). I didn't like the fact that the aguada did not have a kiddie pool (the holiday village has it). Another point is that the gym and the tennis court are rather far away from the main property. You need to go outside the property to access both (which may put one off from going there in the 1st place! The kids facility in the village is much bigger than the one at aguada (called giggles). However, giggles has more planned activities within it (like mug painting, card making etc). The only drawback is that children below 3 years need to have an accompanying parent (mine are 6 and 3 years). So one can finish a quiet lunch or dinner between the two at latitude or il camino which are just beside the children's room, while your kids are kept occupied in there On the day of our anniversary I actually had to remind them of it despite it having been mentioned earlier. The only reason I did that was to tell them not to send a cake as all we were in any case doing was eating! I thought it would be good to ask them for some fresh flowers for my wife; but was told that they had to ask for it from outside the hotel and it would be payable. I thought it would have been good if that could have been arranged, but that was not to be and eventually we got. Well! Another cake! This time round we relied on the kids to polish most of it off, but some did get wasted. But I did really feel that it would have been great if the hotel could have organized a few flowers. Would expect it from the taj group; especially since they have so many flowers on the premise itself On the 2nd day of the stay we noticed brown water coming from the hot water faucet. We reported it and it was rectified in around 1/1/2 s time Overall the service and the room quality were very nice! I would recommend the hotel to anyone who would like to come. I found the weather to be quite nice despite people stating that it would be otherwise in April. Especially morning till 11 or 11. 30 am and post 5 pm. The weather was wonderful. Even the afternoons are okay if you are under a shade and there is a breeze blowing, as was the case while we were there The departure and check out process was smooth and good. The journey to the airport was a little less time consuming than the arrival was! (Don't know if the routes taken were different). I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone with a family who would just like to chill and use the facility of the resort. Ideal for a family getaway, especially with small kids, though if you get the same price, room category and package, you should opt for the holiday village Lastly though, I would like to mention what I do in all my reviews. The Indian luxury holiday industry really needs to rethink its pricing strategy! We could have done sri lanka or Nepal or bhutan or thailand or malaysia in less or equal the price than we did in home country! It a real shame!
The overall experience of the trip was good. The property is at an excellent location, just on the beach. You can have a great view of Arabian Sea from their Terrace, which is actually on the lobby floor The property is more of a hotel than a resort as it is build around Fort Aguada, so not much area to walk. There is hardly any garden, as hotel is just near the sea. The pool is as big as shown on the hotel website The staff is polite, although they seem to be in good mood. So expect slippage in some services. They may forget something which you would have told or the service delivery may be delayed. Overall food served during breakfast and otherwise at Latitude Restaurant is okay, not that great. Have eaten better food at other Taj locations. Although their Italian restaurant serves good food Advice to travelers - Since the property is dated, so there is no elevator in the hotel. For elderly this may be pain, as they have to always walk via staircase. Do not take rooms at lobby floor for elderly, as all restaurants, including Latitude are one floor down Many of their services like SPA, GYM etc are shared with their cousin property - Taj Holiday Village, which is just 200-300 meters away. One good thing is that if you are staying at Taj Aguada, you can eat at Holiday village as well - if you have taken their all meal package. Hotel provides free car service for dropping at their cousin property. There is also a sun-set point within the property, at a higher location, they take you there via free car, but beware of mosquito there. Ask for room freshener regularly. As rooms get bit smelly due to dampness, being near to sea. Property gets really boring in off-seasons. As they do not do any activity. Try not to eat always at Taj Aguada, as options are few. Plus their buffet spread is not that great. Try some options in nearby Candolim and Calangute. Actually not a wah taj experience. I went to Holiday Village property as well, guess it is slightly expensive, but far better. So if you are willing to shell out money, try Taj Holiday Village, rather than Taj Aguada.
Room was luxurious at this price loaded with many facilities. I was fully satisfied even though food was damn tasty, I will recommend to everyone who is planing trip to Goa. My wife and I enjoyed in the central location, we were in close walking distance to many useful things in Helsinki Senate Square. Yes, it's a luxury hotel and the staff are extremely professional and friendly. Other reviewers can describe that better than me. My wife and I enjoyed in the central location the harbour and Market square, plenty of shopping (The Stockmann Deli was very useful for coffee and breakfast). Also, the gym is quite good and even has a rowing machine. The Train station (which is also the main hub for most trolley and bus lines). The Finnair Bus to the Airport.
